Hi I'm Pat

I'm a great-grandmother. I ride on the back of a motorcycle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young at heart grandmother and great-grandmother of ten, trying to keep healthy and fit. I'm a daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, not unlike so many of you. I'm a tutor, secretary, back-seat motorcycle rider, and Temple goer. Reading the Scriptures, attending BYU Education Week, needlepoint, sewing, and making my home a haven for family and friends are some of my interests.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of the example of some wonderful family and friends, becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 12 years ago is one of the greatest blessings in my life. There is no greater blessing than knowing who you are, why you are here, and that your Heavenly Father loves and guides you daily in the way to return home to Him. The Scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, have become my greatest pleasure. Studying and gaining greater knowledge of its teachings has changed me dramatically and as I study, I feel the Spirit speak to me of its truthfulness. I am so grateful to Heavenly Father for the restoration of His Church, the Prophet Joseph Smith for his diligence and life, for a living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and for Apostles to guide and encourage us to keep striving to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. My greatest love and gratitude are for the Savior and the gift of having His Spirit to continually guide and direct me. His love is amazing! How happy being a member of His Church makes me.

How I live my faith

Service is my favorite part of being a member of the Church. There are many opportunities to get outside one's self and serve. In the Book of Mosiah, chapter 2, verse 17, we are told that ". . . when we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of our God." What a privilege! I delight in being in his service. Living the principles and ordinances of the Gospel brings great happiness and peace to my life. There is no comparison between the world's happiness and that which is experienced as a "Mormon." I glory in the amazing love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and am so blessed to experience the guidance of the Holy Ghost.
