Hi I'm Joel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a research scientist working with a major Biotechnology Company that manufactures and distributes a wide range of health care related instruments and diagnostics. I earned a masters degree in microbiology and biochemistry and now work in the research and development division of my company. I served a two year mission for the LDS church to Austria and so I am semi-fluent in the German language. I am a husband, a father to 4 children, and grandfather to 10 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into and raised as a member of the LDS Church so the question for me would be "Why am I still a Mormon?" I am still a Mormon because at some point in my life I was truly converted to the gospel through study, prayer, and some remarkable spiritual experiences that helped convince me through the power of the Holy Ghost of the truthfulness of the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me a purpose for living and opportunity to serve others and perfect myself as Jesus asked us all to do (Matt 5:48). I am still in it because it is a wonderful church to raise a family in and cultivate lifelong friendships with fellow members. Please visit my own LDS related web site at www.mormonhaven.com.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities within the LDS Church; working with the youth and adults in teaching and leadership positions. I am a hometeacher, as are most men in the church, which means that I am responsible for looking after the physical and spiritual well-being of a few families in our congregation. I sometimes go out with our missionaries to visit ward members as well as nonmembers who are interested in finding out more about the church. I have my own website with many resources related to the Mormon Church (MormonHaven.com)
