Hi I'm Kathy Tawzer

I am a chocolate lover, business owner, hairstylist, proud Mom, Grandma & Wife and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happy to say that I married my Jr/high school sweetheart & the man of my dreams. We have been happily married for 30 years now. We are been blessed to have 5 amazing children & 12 grandchildren. We have had many wonderful experiences as a family & many special memories. We love being together & having fun. We have been so very blessed & also tried as a family. We have been through financial trials, illnesses, family struggles, disappointments, broken hearts & broken dreams. The hardest trial of my life was when my youngest child then 16 years old, passed away from a car accident. Nothing in this life has compared to that kind of pain. She was my special girl & baby. It has taken much faith & prayer to keep going. We have mourned so deeply. My Savior, Jesus Christ has been my rock & my peace. He truly has been there to hold me up & wipe away my tears. Because of Him & the Plan of Salvation I know I will see her again & we will be an eternal family. This church has been a blessing in my life. It has given me the answers I have needed, it gives me hope & peace. It has given my family a true path in this life to follow. God has a plan for each of us & we trust Him & love him. Our family motto is to "hope on & trust on". Through the gospel of Jesus Christ we can find peace & even joy as we continue on this journey of life. Heavenly Father is aware of me & I know He loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense and because I believe it to be true. I have faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I believe he is my Savior and Redeemer! That means He truly can help me in all my struggles. He knows exactly how I feel and knows exactly how to help me. I have a strong belief in Joseph Smith and that he did indeed see God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. I believe that he translated the Book of Mormon from ancient plates. I am grateful that Christ's church is once again on the earth and that it was restored. I believe this because I have prayed about it and asked for myself if it is true. I had received that answer, that it is. I have also had so many experiences with the Spirit that has testified to me that it is true. All of it! We have a Prophet on the earth today and that means so much to me. The heaven are not closed, God does speak to his children on this earth. I am so thankful for a prophet who leads us today with so much chaos in the world. It gives me great comfort to know God is in control and he has a sure plan for all of us. I wasn't raised a Mormon, but I always felt there had to be more to life, more answers than what I had. When I studied this church it just made so much sense to me. I loved how it made me feel. I felt such a feeling of peace. It has proven to do the same now for over 30 years. It has been a life line to me through all the ups and downs in my life. Being a member of this church doesn't mean hard things won't happen in your life, but it does mean when they do you will be better prepared to get through it. It gives you such tremendous hope, it gives you knowledge that you are a child of God & you are known & loved by Him. It gives you purpose & reason for life. It gives you & me the answers!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying every day for the strength, wisdom and guidance to do what God would have me do each day. I try to be a little better today than I was the day before. I don't always do that and so I have to try again. I am grateful for a patient Heavenly Father who understands who I am and judges me by my heart. I converted to the church over 30 years ago and I have been teaching the youth of the church ever since. I have taught the children in almost every age and class. They are amazing kids with such great testimonies. Their faith is so simple and pure. They know who Christ is and desire to follow him. I have taught the young women ages 12-18 in many wards now and have loved being among them and learning from them. They are so strong and faithful. I have learned that they watch you in all you do and your example is so important. But most importantly they want to feel loved and accepted. I have learned through all my trials that love is key to so much in this life. As the Savior said we first need to love God with all our hearts and then to love others. I love my Heavenly Father and am so grateful for his tenderness and mercy in my life. I am also grateful for kindness and love of others. I try to live the gospel every day by praying, reading the scriptures, serving & loving others including my family and being grateful for all the tender mercies of the Lord. I try to live my faith by being steady and faithful and constant in the things I know are right.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Kathy Tawzer
Family is so very important to Mormons. We believe the family unit can be forever. The family does not end at death. We can be a eternal family through the sealing ordinance in the temple. It means so much to me because I have lost a teenage daughter. To think this would be the end, that I wouldn't be able to see her again is way wrong and way too painful. That is just not the way a loving God would make it. We put so much love and effort into our families. We want to live with each other forever. Knowing I get to be with my daughter forever someday gives me the motivation and the hope I need to keep going. She was so very special and I feel her near me from time to time. I know she is helping me and encouraging me to remain faithful and strong. Family is why we are here. Family is what it is all about! Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Kathy Tawzer
We need a Savior because he is the only way back to live with our Father in Heaven. Without him we would all be lost. He suffered for each one of us because he loved us enough to fulfill his mission. He suffered such tremendous pain and did it so we could repent and so we could know there is someone who truly knows every detail of our pain and sorrow. He can feel our every sadness, sorrow, pain and afflictions, disappointment, and heart aches. He knows how we feel and knows how to help us. He took upon himself all our sins and more. He offered himself because of his deep love for us. He suffered in Gethsemane and on the cross for us. He was rejected by his own people and yet forgave them. He is truly our example in every way. He was the only one who could overcome all of this and then rise from the dead on the third day. Because he overcame the world and death, we too can overcome through him. He is the reason we have hope of a life beyond this one. We will all be resurrected when he comes again and we will go to him, fall at his feet, worship him and kiss his feet and weep for all he has done for us. Show more Show less
