Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied graphic design and have worked in editorial publishing for the past few years, though I recently just "retired" from the workforce to pursue more creative work on my own. I was married in the Portland Oregon temple almost 8 years ago and we have loved moving around the country to pursue our creative work. I feel blessed to be a part of a family that is creative and artistic. I also served a mission for the Church in Paris, France, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I love the French people and culture and I think about it all the time. As far as other things, I love to read, bake and do "around the house" things. I'm a major homebody, but love to be involved in church activities and service.

Why I am a Mormon

I consider myself lucky to have been born into a home where my parents were already both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have always loved going to Church and have had personal experiences that have taught me that what my parents and teachers taught me was and is true. Some of my most memorable experiences came while going through my high school and college years. Those years are hard—compounded by divorced parents and a broken wedding engagement—and I relied a great deal on God and found that he never failed me. I know that God is aware of us and that he watches over us. I feel indebted to the Lord for all he has done for me, and because of this, I have developed a strong faith in Him and I know that if I remain true to the promises I made to Him when I was baptized, I have the assurance that God will bless me with what I am in need of and answer my prayers. I have seen this promise fulfilled so many times in my life, and I know that I am not alone.

How I live my faith

Right now, my husband and I keep busy working with kids and teenagers. I teach Sunday School and have a wonderful class of rambunctious 9-year-olds who keep me on my toes. Their knowledge of the scriptures and their desire to learn is inspiring. Being able to spend 2 hours each Sunday with them has taught me that children are never too young to understand the truths that God wants us to know.
