Hi I'm Terry

I am a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)/ environmental consultant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and environmental consultant. I am a father of 5 and a grandfather of 4. I am a country boy who moved to the big city. In spite of where I live now, I still enjoy gardening and watching things grow. I also enjoy being outside, taking walks, bike rides, camping, and hiking. Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments will bring me more happiness than any other thing I can do. I believe in eternal families and living prophets. I was raised in a Mormon home but I have found for myself the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect, but in spite of my imperfections, my Heavenly Father has at times, answered specific prayers and given me guidance. Some of those answers have led me to know of the truthfulness of this Church. In addition, some of those answers have profoundly guided my family for which I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

My faith affects everything I do. Being a follower of Jesus Christ, I try to follow His example of compassion, honesty and integrity. I have found that in business, this effort has resulted in a good reputation and additional business. I have had many types of callings (responsibilities) within the Church which have included working with children, teenagers, young adults and mature adults. One of my favorite responsibilities has been recently working with young adults. I have so enjoyed watching them grow in the gospel, repent when they made mistakes, prepare to serve as missionaries, and be married for time and eternity. Serving makes me happy and I hope to be able to serve throughout my life.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

How could say that we follow Jesus Christ if we only helped members of our own faith? I have been involved in various Church organized relief efforts of several thousand Mormons associated with hurricanes, Andrew, Katrina and other natural disasters. I have worked along side many other Church members as we removed trees from roof tops, weathered in roofs, cleaned up yards and helped to put grateful smiles on the faces of people I have never before met and will likely never meet again. I have seen the Church request and provide several thousand workers to a disaster area within 7 days of notice. If you are ever in a disaster and fortunate enough to see "Mormon Helping Hands" T-Shirts, you can know that help has arrived. I enjoy helping my neighbors, none of which are members of our church. It connects and strengthens our neighborhood community. Service doesn't just go one way. I have been the recipient of kind acts of service from my neighbors as well. Regardless of which way the service goes, a smile and a "thank you" builds friendships and bridges that last for a lifetime. Show more Show less
