Hi I'm Shona

I'm a Mormon. We have a yours, mine and ours family and I am mother of 7 children and grandmother of 23.

About Me

I taught music in elementary school for 8 years and worked as a TV film editor and part time reporter in my younger years. I love music and grew up in a family that owned a summer theater. Because it was always part of my life, music has been very important to me and my children. I am currently preparing to teach 2 youth singing groups in our community. I love the beautiful earth God created and enjoy being in the outdoors. I ski, snowmobile, walk, bike, hike and love to travel. Most of all I love being with my family....especially my sweet grandchildren. I have a wonderful husband and we served a mission together in India 2008-2009. We miss those wonderful people and hope to visit them again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful Mormon family. My Great Great Grandfather was friends with Joseph Smith. In his journal he often talked about the church and Joseph Smith and that he recognized it as truth. Miracles took place in his life. Knowing that, had an influence on me but my recognition of truth came when I was 21. My 1st husband died and I was left with a 7 month old son. It was one of the hardest times of my life, but my Heavenly Father watched over me tenderly and many miracles came as I lived out each day, one day at a time. The Church of Jesus Christ is what gave me strength to hold on. I would never choose to have that experience again, but it truly strengthened me and helped me to become who I am today.

How I live my faith

I believe in going the extra mile in most everything I do. A life well lived is one who puts her whole heart and soul into good things. I don't want to be known as a half-hearted semi active follower of Christ. Going to church every Sunday and doing everything I can to help, builds faith. As I do my best and try to keep Christ at the helm of my journey, facing each day and trial as it comes, all of this adds to my faith.
