Hi I'm Joshua

I am a Mormon from England. I have been a member since I was born.

About Me

I am a University student Studying a Computing Science BSc (Hons) course. I am only in my first year but I love it. Computers are kind of my things. However, I am much more social than your average computer nerd. I love getting involved and doing things. I am a course representative for my year group at University and this helps me to get to know everyone and to be my normal, outgoing self.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know I should be. I have been a Mormon all of my life and have been lucky enough to enjoy most of the experiences available to children, teenagers and young adults. I love gospel principles taught in the church and to peace and comforts that comes from knowing these principles are true. Knowing my purpose in life has helped me to stay optimistic in times when optimism did not come easily.

How I live my faith

Right now I work with all of the Young Adults (18-30) in my local congregation. I get to be a part of the organising and running of activities, socials (get togethers) and spiritual devotionals. In the past I have taught a Sunday School class for children aged 8-11. I taught the children all about the stories in The Book Of Mormon and the principles taught through these stories. For 2 years I also served as a missionary in England to teach people about The Book Of Mormon and the church and how it can change their lives. I have loved every assignment I have been given and enjoyed the opportunity to work with others to fulfill these assignment.s

What is being a Mormon like?

Joshua
Being a member of the church is comforting. No-one is alone. We make the effort to care for everyone. All of us have trials and struggles, moments of weakness or temptation. Life is not easy and 'going it alone' can seem impossible. Knowing that you don't have to bear your trials alone is the most reassuring feeling. There is always something happening for you to enjoy. Activities, Family Home Evenings, Munch 'n' Mingles'. Life as a Mormon provides everything you need. Fun, Security, Peace, Friends and Faith. Show more Show less
