Hi I'm Heath

I love life, I find humor in almost everything and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I live in Arizona with my lovely wife and our 6 children. I received a degree in the Fine Arts. My wife has a degree in education which comes in helpful with our little children. I work with my father as a carpet cleaner. I love technology and gadgets. We don't have a lot of money and we try to get by with as little debt as possible. My goal is to live life simple, happy and complete.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and father were members of the church when I was born. They did well at raising me in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was baptised when I turned 8 yrs old. I spent this time learning about the Bible and Book of Mormon and being taught how to live my life after Christ's example. When I was about 14 yrs old I was assigned to be a leader of a group of young men. This assignment was a challenge for me, and lead me to question what I was doing and why. I needed to know if the church was true because if it wasn't I didn't want to waste any more time in it. After much prayer and study of the Book of Mormon I learned personally that Jesus is the Christ, the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is his church and where I needed to be.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Bishop. This means that I was called to be a leader of a geographical area. I spend a lot of time serving as Bishop along with my day job as a carpet cleaner and a father of 6. If you ask my wife, being a bishop is like a second job. My Faith is very important to me, I would have to say that every aspect of my life revolves around it. I hope to be able to return home to my heavenly father and embrace him knowing that I spent my time on this earth acting as he would have me act. I fail constantly at being that person but with enought time and forgivness I know that I could become more like God and Jesus, and that I believe is what this life is all about.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We believe that God speaks to his children through living prophets. One such prophet, Joseph Smith in the mid. 1800s, received a revelation warning of certain dangers. The revelation, now known as the Word of Wisdom, taught that strong drink (alcohol), hot drinks (coffee, tea) and harmful drugs should be avoided. It promises blessings of health, and the companionship of the Spirit of the Lord to those who live these principles. To me living the Word of Wisdom is a matter of faith in God and his servants. As I have avoided these things, through out my life I have been greatly blessed with good health and happiness. Show more Show less

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

The Short answer is Yes. It has been reveled through a prophet of God. I trust God and hope that my wife and I will have the opportunity to be together forever. Believing that this will be the case helps me in my marriage to look at things with a much longer timeframe. I don’t want to give up or walk away from this relationship because I will be walking away from forever. I look to the future with great joy knowing that my wife and I promised each other to hold on tight and never let go. No matter what happens, we will face it together. Show more Show less
