Hi I'm Kelli

I'm a wife, mother, avid reader of children's books, beginner pianist, lover of the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kelli, I am very happily married to the man of my dreams and we currently have two children, the joys of our life. I am a stay at home mom, thus I spend most of my days chasing my children around, referring, teaching, reading children's books, preparing meals, snapping pictures all day long of all the precious moments I hope to always remember, etc etc. My favorite times of the day are waking up to my children crawling across the bed to see me (my husband lets me sleep in til almost 8 every morning, and then when he really has to take off to work, he opens the door and lets the kiddos in :) with their smiles and storie, nap time rocking my babies to sleep singing songs (usually from the LDS childrens songbook), sneaking in to peak in on them and seeing their peaceful faces, reading while they are sleeping, when Daddy comes home from work and hearing our babies screeches of delight welcoming him home, romping time with the kiddos on our bed....so many smiles, giggles, and lots and lots of joy! My hobbies... I love collecting childrens books, good movies, church literature - whether doctrinally based, novels based on church history, or just thought provoking good books. I'm always looking for a sale, for just about anything. I am currently slowly attempting ;) to teach myself the piano (I LOVE music), hiking, dancing, kayaking, horseback riding, rope swings, cliff jumping, and much much more!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because ...simply stated, I've come to know for myself The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true! I always thought when I was a child how cool it would have been to be alive during the time Moses parted the sea, or Noah was building the ark (if often wondered if I would have listened to him)... I was born and raised in the Church, and as I got older and matured in the gospel I started reflecting more, studying the scriptures with greater intent, praying with more sincerity to my Father in Heaven. In time, through the warmth, comfort, and peace feelings of the spirit I came to know that His Church was once again on the earth! Restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, and we have a prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson! That is so cool! There is a prophet on the earth today! God still speaks to one having authority to direct his children! Through Joseph Smith we also have The Book of Mormon, more of God's teachings, and Another Testament of His Son Jesus Christ, his Pure Love, His Atonement, and mission to Redeem All Mankind! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that same church Christ once himself brought to the earth, and He still directs it, through a living prophet!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending Church each Sunday. We strive to have family prayer and scripture study every day. I strive to pray often throughout each day that the Lord can guide me in raising his children that we may one day all return to him. Each day I strive to study from the scriptures personally. Each Monday we have family home evening. Its a little chaotic right now, our children (1 and 2.5 years) are a little young to sit for long periods of time. But we choose a topic, sing a song about the theme, and have a small discussion, often with pictures to color after. I currently have a calling serving in the Young Womens presidency of our ward. I mostly oversee the teaching every Sunday, rotating teaching the actual lesson with a couple others, and attending weekly activities mid week with about 10-12 young women 12-13 years of age. I assist as a counselor to the president overseeing the needs of all our young women (about 35) from the ages of 12-18. I absolutely love it! The youth I work with inspire me to want to be better, more Christ-like and to realize how much more good I could be doing if I would just get more involved in the community.
