Hi I'm Doug

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or a "Mormon" as the nickname goes!

About Me

Pam and I have been married for 33 years and have four children, all grown and on their own now. During this time, we have been fortunate to have had the Gospel of Jesus Christ to guide our marriage and careers, to bless our family, to help us to raise honorable children, and to give us many wonderful friends and acquaintances. I work in the industrial metals industry during the week while Pam has a new career serving our community through a faith based non-profit organization. We try to follow the Savior's example by serving others in our local congregation and through community activities that promote conservative Christian ideals. I enjoy sports, motorcycles, music, reading, investments, movies and 'classic' films, and travel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I came to know that this is Christ's Church and His restored Gospel. In His Church I am learning of Him and trying to cultivate charity toward all people, as He did. As a Latter-day Saint (or "Mormon"), I have abundant opportunities in and out of the Church to serve others and better understand the Lord's injunctions: "If ye love me, keep my commandments" and "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." Of great significance and importance to me is the fact that the Lord guides us once again today as in the past, through living prophets and apostles in His Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as the Bishop of our Ward (congregation) for the last four plus years. I work with our youth in particular, as well as counsel with our adults to help them (and myself!) with the challenges we all face in our daily lives. This has been a most humbling but rewarding experience, for which I am grateful.
