Hi I'm Jana

I'm a teacher and an optimist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 3rd and 4th grade teacher, soon to be a librarian. I started in music but now I am teaching children and couldn't be happier because every day is a new adventure when I get to work with the kids. I still teach and play the violin and viola. Other than that, I find great joy in being a daughter, niece, aunt, sister, and friend.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many reasons I could give, but really it all comes down to this one: it's true. When I read the Book of Mormon I hear the voice of my Savior and His prophets. When I listen to our leaders a peace comes over me testifying that their words are indeed the words of God. When I hear the words my priesthood leaders speak, they say things only known between Christ and myself. When I pray, I know I am doing the right thing through active participation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The FARMS organization and many others have shown physical evidence that the Book of Mormon is true, but one can only truly know of its' truthfulness from Heavenly Father Himself. Ask Him, then listen to His answer.

How I live my faith

I try very hard to make the Holy Sabbath a day entirely reserved for doing the work Jesus would do if He were here. On Sundays my job is to watch over the children ages 18 months to 4 years in the nursery during meetings. This includes snack time, music time, free play time, and a 3-5 minute lesson. On the other days I study the words of God as found in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the living prophet and apostles of our church. I also pray morning and night, as well as when I have anything I want to share with my Father in Heaven.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not. My best friend is an Atheist and a wonderful person. Whenever she has a need I'm there, as she is for me. I think it is much easier for me to hear about the needs of other Mormons because of our Church organization, but I will help anyone it is in my abillity to help if I can see a need that I have the capabillity to fill.
