Hi I'm Eleanor

"I once was lost, but now im found. I was blind but now I see." And i'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im a single mom raising my son, working and going to school (college). I like to walk it helps me think. Im a convert to the church I've known the church for 13 months and I've been a member for 8 months. I Love being Mormon!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up an ok childhood and as time went on I felt myself straying down a path to nowhere. I was blessed with a son who helped me realize I needed to strive for the better. I knew there was something missing in our lives something big, I prayed all the time and it seemed like nothing ever got better. One day missionaries knocked on my door Elder Anderson and Elder Miles invited me to church I accepted and went, It was a great feeling and I continued to meet with the missionaries but I didn’t really have an interest in reading their book or being baptized. I had to leave for a while and lost contact with the missionaries in my town. When I returned home I went on with my everyday duties, I bumped into the missionaries and was moved to invite them back to my house. Elder Miles was still there but he had two new Elders with him Elders Burgess and Bouchard they met with me and explained more of the basic beliefs of the church. I was moved and prayed about it a lot. One day I had an experience and decided to read the Book of Mormon. I knew after I had finished reading a little from it that it was true. I knelt down in prayer to ask my father in heaven if the book was true and I got my answer. I called the missionaries and we started to plan my baptism. It was a great life changing experience. When new missionaries came to my town I had them come help me to understand more. Elders Burgess, Isham and Parkinson all walked me through what I could not understand. With Christ there is no longer anything missing in my family we are doing our best to keep the commandments and be as our father in heaven would have us be. Through obedience, scripture study and prayer I have managed to change my life for the better and follow Christ, I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

My son and I go to church every Sunday. We have daily scripture study and daily family prayer. I find great joy in teaching my son about the Savior. On a couple days out of the month I take some time and go out with the sister missionaries to help others better understand the gospel. There are so many great women I know in my town and I get the blessing of going out and seeing how they are doing every once and a while. I get to either be a helping hand or a good pair of ears, but most of all I love being their friend. Through trust in my Heavenly Father I have become a better Teacher, Student, and Friend.
