Hi I'm Tammy

I grew up around the Great Lakes in New York and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married women of four children. I have two boys and two girls. I use to be an LPN until I was in a couple of car accidents. During a year and half physical therapy I let my nursing license laps. I would black out when I tilled my head down. So I did not go back into nursing. A few years later I took up Office Specialist at International Business School and come down with fybromyalgia. I come down with muscle spasms all over my body. Then came more physical therapy. Then doctors said I could not work any more. So now I am a empty nester because my children are grown up and going to college and working . I do lots of crafts and Hobbies. I make masks, scrapbook, read, sew, make jewelry, take pictures, use stamps to make cards, genealogy, Use my office specialist to help my family and do genealogy. Most of my time is spent trying to help my mother and sister. I am at a point in life were I spend a lot of time helping my mother and sister and my husband's mother also. So I do that and help a handicapped child a great deal of the time. There are family members with mental illness that need a lot of help so my time is used trying to keep them happy and healthy. I feel like I should become an advicate for mental health. When my fibromyalgia is not acting up family and friends take up my time. I am always fighting fatigue and trying to help people and wishing my body would cooperate with me. I hate medicines but it is needed. I never have understood people who want to take drugs because of the side effects of taking medicine for fybromyalgia. People look at you and think there is nothing wrong but can not see the fatigue and how heavy it is just to lift a book at times. Knowing that some day I will be resurrected and that the Church is true keeps me going. I know that I will have a perfect body some day. That is something to look forward to.

Why I am a Mormon

When I started investigating the Church,I heard President Gordon B Hinkley give a talk and in it say that he loved his wife. He gave a talk about not abusing your wife and children. What he said in that talk stuck with me. I always wanted a big family. Around that time I was taking discussions with the missionaries. They had asked me to read the Book of Mormon and to pray and see if the book is true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. I read the Book of Mormon with my son. I tryed to pray the first time but had trouble. It was hard for me to pray to Heavenly Father because of having bad exsperiences with men. I had been through a couple of bad marriages and it was hard to pray. So I asked my son to help me pray to Heavenly Father. I told him what I wanted him to say. He was eight years old by the way. We said the prayer together. We both received the same answer to our prayer. My son told me the answer he received. It was the same answer that I received. For two people to get the same exact answer is awsome. I know that this is the true Church on the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet. I know that the Book of Mormon is true because of the answer my son and I received when we prayed about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, The Book of Mormon and about President Gordon B Hinkley. My first answer to prayer is the reason why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have a Primary Calling in the Church. I try to teach on Sundays when my fybromyalgia is not acting up. I try to make it to Church on Sundays to keep the Sabath Day Holy. I have a not route that I send people letters to ekeep them up with Church business.
