Hi I'm David

I'm a student, husband, and soon to be father I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Just your ordinary aspiring Japanese Historian, filled with funny stories.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because over the course of my life I have continually sought for understanding. Understanding people, understanding things, understanding my surroundings, understanding the past, present and future. By building a relationship with a being that I consider to be the source of all understanding, I am able to be an empathetic learner and observer of life. My committment to God and the Savior motivate me to pursue the establishment of understanding wherever I go. In the most simple terms I feel the tenets of my beliefs makes me a better individual.

How I live my faith

I seek to express my compassion for others by assisting any one in any time, whenever possible. I attend church to help contribute to a church community and to the greater community at large. I keep the records of the area I live in as a historian to help preserve the ups and downs of the people living in my area at this point of time. To hopefully help someone somewhere understand the concerns and successes of people living now.

What is faith?

Faith to me is the great motivator of human action. To some extent every person excersises faith. When we drive a car we believe that the other drivers will stay in their lane. When we turn on a light we expect it to turn on. If we did not believe that certain things happen as expected we would freeze ourselves in our fear. The problem is finding the right things to trust and believe in. Through experiencing life we learn these things slowly and most of the time subconsciously. In order to free ourselves from our fears, belief is neccessary. The Lord offers us an opportunity to trust in him and to try our faith in him... or you could almost say test it. As we believe more and more in our God and our own potential our lives become free from doubt and fear. We understand the world better and can excersise our freedom to a greater capacity.
