Hi I'm Wayne

I grew up in Clayton California. I am a father of four kids and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated college with a degree in computer science. Since then I have worked as a network engineer for the last twelve years. I love spending time with my family. I am often found at one of my kids sporting events cheering them on. In my free time I enjoy riding my dirt bike and snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of many experiences that have testified of the true-fulness of the church. While young, I remember going to church and feeling good all over about what I was learning. As a teenager, my friends were of other religions. I began to wonder why there were so many churches....much like Joseph Smith. I knew I had to find out if what I was being taught was true or not. It was not until I was a teenager that I knelt down as asked Heavenly Father myself if the things I had learned in the church were true. I remember the answer to my prayers was not the same answer Joseph Smith received, but it was an undeniable feeling of peace and love that swept over me. I never have felt so strongly about something I have prayed over before. I knew it was true after that experience. From time to time, I still pray for the confirmation that the things I am learning are true. Never fails, I always receive a warm peaceful feeling about the church and it's teachings. In knowing these truths, it has blessed my life. I know our Heavenly Father answers our sincere prayers. I know He is aware of me. I can feel his love when I live the gospel. I love the peace and joy that are in my life because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know who I am and why I am here.

How I live my faith

I am fortunate to know about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has blessed my life and that of my family in so many ways. I have been called to serve as a Bishop of my local congregation/ward. I get to work with the youth of the church that are amazing and inspiring to be around. As a youth leader, I try to help the youth gain a love for the gospel and develop their own testimonies of it's simple truths. I try each day to live by the teachings of the scriptures. When I am successful at doing so, I feel closer to the Lord and blessed for what he has give me.
