Hi I'm Sean

I'm a young man from Idaho who loves to sing, dance and act. :D I love the outdoors and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Well I am an abnormal guy but who isn't? Hehe, I totally love to go out and be with my friends playing games doing service and just living life. I have been a very active person most of my life being out doors working hard and playing hard, also acting in plays and singing in choir. I grew up on a small farm in Idaho and love being outside. Camping is one of my favorite things to do. I just love the smell of pine trees and campfire smoke. I love things that grow plants, trees, flowers, herbs,...people :) the best things in life have to struggle to become stronger, that's just the way it is. One of my favorit poems is about growth, it's called "Good timber" by Douglas Malloch. It has helped me through more then one tough patch. I like to be care free some times just to shake things up. ;) I also love to be around people talking and joking and just getting to know others better and sharing what it is that makes us happy. sometimes I like to sit down with a friend and just talk about our experiences, fun memories, dreams, and plans for the future. I am planning to go to collage in the fall to study Massage Therapy because I think we could all use some stress relief and I have a firm belief in the power of healing hands. I love music it is totally amazing what songs can do to stir our souls and bring peace and relief.Dance can also be a stress relief that fills me with energy. I just love to be filled with joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I have come to the conclusion that the feelings of utter peace and joy I get by being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints have to come from God. As I have grown up in the church I was taught morals and lessons about life and how to live. I was raised in a loving family who taught me to read the scriptures and pray to my Father in heaven to find answers. In all that time I was learning and living off of the knowledge or testimony of my parents and leaders, but when I was in high school I began to question. I was asking the hard questions of myself. Do I really believe what I have been taught or is it just something I have been living and don't know for myself? Does it really matter what I believe or how I live my life? As I was hit with the need to know for my self I began to look in every direction. But when I turned to the "world" it could not give me any help because everyone seems to have an opinion. So I began to search the scriptures and to really pray. Through my earnest prayers I found the peace and comfort that I had been searching for. I have come to find out for my self that The Bible is the word of God and The Book of Mormon is also the word of God it has been written for our day. That God has again called a prophet on the earth today to help us in this day and age when we need his help the most. And that because God loves us he has not left us alone and will answer our prayers if we are willing to act upon the answer we are given. I am a Mormon for I have found out for myself by the power of the Holy Ghost through sincere prayer.

How I live my faith

I am a very energetic person and I love to be around others. The best way I can live my faith is to be a good example. I try to be nice and help out where I can. I absolutely love to give service for others and will help out in my community when I can. I have been given the opportunity to go out and share what I know to be true and help others come closer to Christ as a missionary. As a missionary I help others to find for themselves what I have found, peace through the knowledge that the Lord loves us and has again restored his church on the earth. I have also been given the opportunity to be a teacher for a group of young men and women helping them to build their faith in our savior Jesus Christ.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Sean
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we believe that a man must be called of God by proper authority. When God asks us to do something it is usually to benefit another and sometimes we end up being blessed ourselves. Our local congregations, called wards or branches, are led by men called bishops or branch presidents. They are called to serve and teach the members. To aid them in this they in turn seek divine guidance to call members to various positions in their congregation. All of this is for the benefiting of the members both those who are served and those serving. I feel that when I am serving someone I don't want any compensation because I feel good inside. I know that God has commanded us to "love one another" and the best way I can show that is through service. Our leaders and teachers serve and receive blessing far greater then any monetary amount they could be paid. That’s why God calls leaders to help them and us grow in faith and love.
