Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon. I work with refugees from all around the world including Bosnia, Somalia, Nepal, Iraq.

About Me

I am a registered dietitian and am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I play the organ and piano. I swim and snow ski with my husband, Dave. I am an avid reader and love biographies.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church of God on the earth today I knew that my parents knew that. I grew up in a loving home where the gospel was taught and where the gospel was lived. I leaned on my parents and beliefs until I studied, prayed, and pondered and developed my own testimony. I cherish my temple covenants where my children are sealed to me. I have a witness that we have a living prophet Thomas S. Monson on the earth today. He receives revelation on an ongoing basis for the church and in fact for the whole world.

How I live my faith

In my profession I have many opportunities to serve others. I meet with many people who are struggling with personal trials. I meet with many who are new refugees to our country and as I speak to them with an interpreter I feel the great love of our Father in Heaven for them. I try hard to help make a smooth transition to a new country and way of life. I watch my children share with their children the blessings of the gospel. This is a time of great uncertainty in the world and my children and grandchildren are fortunate to have the gospel as a constant. I am an accomplished organist and have enjoyed sharing that talent in my many ward congregations and also teaching workshops so that others might learn to play. The organ is a beautiful instrument for inviting the spirit of the Lord to church worship.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith grew up in a Christian family in the north eastern United States. He struggled with the question of which of the many churches to join. He read in the Bible from James Chapter 1 verse 5 "if any of ye lack wisdom, let him ask of God and it shall be given him". He decided to pray about the question of which church to join. He then received a personal visit from Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ that he should join none of the churches on the earth at that time. He then was given the responsibility to restore Christ's church back to the earth. I know this to be true and you can know this also. Show more Show less
