Hi I'm Dean

I love sports. I love Music. I am a missionary in the Florida Ft. Lauderdale mission so I love baptizing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in the Florida, Fort Lauderdale mission! I am a spanish speaking missionary. I have served in West Palm Beach, Homestead, and now the El Portal ward in Miami. I love sharing the gospel here in South Florida and experiencing the wide variety of cultures. I am enjoying the ability to share the gospel every day. I grew up Brigham City and Honeyville Utah to goodly parents. I love sports, music and having fun with others. I went to one year of college at BYU before the mission. I especially enjoy playing basketball with friends and spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with parents who are active in the church. I am a Mormon because my parents helped me to decide for myself to be baptized. Reading the scriptures at an early age helped me to gain a testimony. I am greatful for these things, because I now have a strong testimony for myself that I am a part of Christ's church here on the earth. I have chosen for myself to remain active in the gospel for my entire life. The reason is becuase I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church that has the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. Reading the Book of Mormon is the easiest way to know this church is true. I know it is true because of the great feeling in my heart given by the Holy Ghost. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith the prophet saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and that the Priesthood was restored to the earth again by John the baptist and Peter, James, and John. I respect other religions but I know that only this church has the priesthood authority from Jesus Christ to perform ordinances like baptism. I know that baptism is necessary to inherit the kingdom of God. Most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ was perfect and atoned for my sins and the sins of the world. He suffered immense pain and grief for us because he loves us. Because of this, He is our only way back to the Father. I know that true lasting happiness in life comes only from relying on Him. I know if we repent Christ will cleanse us from sin. I know all these things because when I bear testimony of it the Holy Ghost lets me feel that it is true. I believe anyone can know of the truth of this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every week and partaking of the Sacrament. The Sacrament is how I renew my baptismal covenants of taking upon the name of Christ and remembering him and keep his commandments so that I can have His spirit (the Holy Ghost) to be with me. I have participated whenever I could with youth group activities one night a week. This encourages good wholesome activites. We often perform service. I have served other's by raking leaves, doing eagle projects, and taking the Sacrament to the homebound. One of the greatest things I have done is participate several times in baptisms for the dead at a temple. The dead who didn't have a chance to be a member of this church have the choice to accept the baptism or not. I have felt the Holy Ghost very strongly in the temple and I know it's a sacred place. I also live my faith by keeping commandments of God. I pay tithing. (10% of all I earn) I obey the word of wisdom. (a law of health) I live a virtuous life and I do my best to have clean language, thoughts and desires. I also strive to hometeach once a month. This is an assignment males 14 and older have to watch out for other families in the ward or church group. It feels great to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
