Hi I'm Nels

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father, and a filmmaker. I'm thankful to have my loving and dedicated wife. She is my best friend, and gives me strength daily. My wife and I have 5 beautiful daughters. I love being their daddy, and helping them enjoy the blessings our Heavenly Father has given us. I produce videos of all sorts, for a living, and for recreation. My daughters and I have made a few short family films that we love to watch together. Finding the right balance in my life has been an important challenge. How do I make time for all of the important aspects of my life? Is there still time left for my personal goals? When I feel like I don't have time to do it all, I receive gentle reminders from heaven, "you don't have time to do it all, but you do have time to do what is most important." That brings me peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught and lived. My parents set a wonderful example for me and my siblings. They helped me to learn how I could know the truth. By obeying the commandments of the Lord, my testimony of the Savior, and His church, have grown through my life. I've always valued curiosity and open mindedness, which has helped me better understand God's plan. Through self examination, study, and prayer, I've felt my Father in Heaven reinforce my testimony and faith by the power of the Holy Ghost. I know we have a Heavenly Father. I know that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for all of us. These truths have been known and lost through mankind's history. Now in the last dispensation, we have these truths restored to us, never to be lost. Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and I'm so grateful for the work he did to restore the truth. God has revealed truth to us through his prophets. We can know the truth through the Holy Ghost. The Bible and Book of Mormon are the word of God, along with the other revealed scriptures and teachings of our latter day prophets. I have been blessed to know these things, and I invite anyone to seek, and they will find the truth as well.

How I live my faith

It seems like a small thing, but I believe that raising my family to the Lord is one of the greatest ways I can show my faith in God. My wife and I teach our daughters every day about the blessings and commandments of the Lord. We teach them to love the beauty all around them, and to thank God daily. We try to have daily family scripture study and prayer. My daughters help keep us on track! I love discussing spiritual things. I have had many opportunities to meet new people in the last several months, and sooner or later we get to share our beliefs. It is a blessing to share my testimony, and also to hear the faith of others who are searching for truth, though it may not be in my church. I hope that the brightness and peace I have in my life will help others to come to Christ and help build His kingdom.
