Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon. I'm an engineer, a devoted husband and father of 9 wonderful children.

About Me

I have a wonderful, yet busy life. I earned a PhD in mechanical engineering and work in the aerospace industry. With nine children I never lack for something worthwhile and exciting to do after work. On top of my family and work responsibilities I keep very busy with responsibilities at church. I don't get much time to watch my favorite sports teams on TV but I wouldn't trade my life for any other. I love to take trips with my beautiful wife to see new and interesting places and visit with people of other nations and cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons. I grew up as a member of the church with my father's side of the family joining the church in the days of Joseph Smith and my mothers side of the family joining the church in Holland in the early 1900's. Despite my pioneer heritage, I have had to gain my own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I have studied engineering and the sciences I have been grown to marvel at the work of God in providing us such an amazing world in which there is such perfect order and beauty. I have read the Bible and Book of Mormon and know that they contain the word of God and are essential in our quest to return to our Heavenly Father. Being a Mormon helps me to feel happy and helps me to maintain a wonderful and positive outlook on life.

How I live my faith

I was recently called to be a counselor in the stake presidency in the area where I live. This has been a wild and wonderful ride as I have learned to balance my time between self, family, work, and church responsibilities. As a member of the stake presidency I volunteer much of my free time each week to care for the spiritual and temporal needs of the members of the congregations in area in which I live. It has been wonderful experience as I've seen the hand of the Lord work in the lives of the many members of our congregations and the community at large.
