Hi I'm Anna Hayes

I love the gospel, being a reporter, my family, and eating green jello. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Anna. I am a news anchor in Arizona. I studied journalism at BYU. I grew up my whole life in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love all things having to do with journalism, the news, writing, family, friends, good music, and really good food.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I cannot begin to imagine my life without the joy of the gospel. As a news reporter and anchor...I see a lot of news. Most of it is bad news. My whole day is filled with reporting on car accidents, destructive fires, terrible accidents, and people who have made poor choices. I am comforted to know that the gospel offers everyone hope. I know that death is not the end. I know that I have a purpose and plan in life, which helps me make choices that bring me job and peace. I rejoice in good news! And the gospel is the best news on the earth. I am grateful to know that the fully restored gospel is in fact here on this earth. I am comforted to know that Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are involved in my life and care about me and the things going on in my life. Just like everyone else, I make mistakes everyday of my life. Without repentance and the comfort of the Holy Ghost telling me that it's ok to start over fresh the next day, I would be a lost mess. I love my family so much, and the knowledge that I get to be with them not only for my short time here on this earth but for all of eternity makes me so happy. The gospel is here and it is real.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through persistent attendance and participation in my ward. I am so blessed to be surrounded by other wonderful youth who share my same beliefs and values and make me be a better person. One of my favorite things about being a Mormon is the willingness the members of this church have to share the gospel's great message with non-members. The happiest times of my life have been watching friends of mine discover the gospel, come to church, and be baptized. Anyone is welcome to come to church, just find the closest one to you and contact the missionaries to learn how to experience the joy of this gospel first-hand!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Anna Hayes
I am so happy to pay 10% of my income to the church. I know that the church uses it to build temples, help the sick and needy, and serve others. These are all wonderful things that I am happy to help out with in my own little way...by paying a full tithe. I have seen first hand the blessing that come to tithing payers. We are taken care of financially because we choose to pay out tithing. Show more Show less
