Hi I'm Frank

I'm a loving husband and father. I'm a U.S. Navy Vet. I have a strong passion for photography, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the U.S. Navy when I turned 18. I was stationed in Virginia for 5 years before being Honorably Discharged. While in the Navy I met my wife of close to 12 years. When I was a child I loved to paint. That artistic drive lead me to music and photography. I'm still an amateur, but trying to hone in my skills.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't grow up in a very religious household. I can probably count on two hands how many times I went to church as a child. Growing up I always felt that something was missing, though at the time I didn't know what it was. The latter part of my high school years were spent in and out of school due to my conduct. Not much changed by way of attitude while I served in the Navy. Sometimes I think I barely got an Honorable discharge. I got married in 2001 to my beautiful wife who told me that she was a Mormon. All I could think was, “...those goodie goodies from the commercials?”. I tried my best to avoid conversion for the first couple of years. Towards the beginning of our third year of marriage, my wife and I were having trouble due to my attitude and actions. I decided that something needed to change. I agreed to meet with the Missionaries to begin talking about the Church, the love that Heavenly Father has for us, and The Atonement of Jesus Christ. During that time I noticed something very strange. It seemed as if a weight had been lifted off of my life. As I listened to what the Missionaries had to say, I could feel in my heart that this was the answer that I had been waiting for my whole life. Things between my wife and I got better, and I was eventually baptized in the church. That's been close to eight years now and I still feel the same way as I did when I first got baptized. My wife and I just celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss and were Sealed in the Temple. We are expecting our first child in April 2012. I have no doubt in my mind that it's because of the knowledge that my wife and I have gained though the teachings of the gospel. I have a very strong testimony that this is the true church of Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday, be it in or out of church. My wife and I have morning scripture study every morning. We try to read at least a chapter or two a day. On Tuesday nights my wife and I attend meetings with the young men and young women of the church for activities and lessons of varying topics, though always centered around Christ and service. I was called as a "Teachers Quorum Advisor" late last year. One of my duties is to teach the young men the principles and doctrines of the church to help them to become humble servants of Christ.
