Hi I'm Scott

I was born in Ogden, Utah. I have worked for over 31 years with youth in the Job Corps Program. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy watching college football, especially BYU. I became a big fan during the Steve Young/Robbie Bosco eras and only got more excited about the program when Ty Detmer played. But watching football is not my only passion. Classical music provides a great solace. I am an avid reader and usually can complete a book a week. During my career I have taught school in Manaus, Brazil where I lived for about 2 years. I have been blessed in obtaining a Ph.D in education. I have run 10 marathons in my life and plan to complete more. I hope to retire in 3 years with 35 years in service to disadvantaged youth.

Why I am a Mormon

One day I decided to pick up the Book Of Mormon and I have never since been able to put it down. That book changed my life profoundly for the good, and continues to do so every day. I cannot remember a day in the last 20 years that I have not read from its pages

How I live my faith

Every day I try to be an example to those who I lead and work with. I am never perfect at it, but the power of Christ's sacrifice for me makes it possible to continue to try. I work with the young singles group as well as home teach with my younger son as a companion. It is important to me to be politically aware of events in the country and the world and to play an active part in the political process. I am a consistent supporter of the Southern Poverty Law Center and the U.S. Holocaust Museum. I beleive in actively supporting causes that in my opinion are worthy.
