Hi I'm Kimberly

I'm a mother, a therapist and a crafter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated college in Therapeutic Recreation. I married my sweetheart at the same time as I graduated and then worked for a couple of years at a troubled youth center. We then moved to Texas where my husband is in medical school. I was then able to quit working outside the home full time so that I could be a full-time mother and homemaker. I have a beautiful baby girl now. I enjoy doing anything crafty, being outdoors (especially on the beach), and playing with my baby girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have faithful parents in the LDS church who taught me the gospel and lived good examples of the faith. However, I realized when I left home for college that I had never fully read the Book of Mormon on my own. I worked on this goal through my freshman year, however as the book came to a close I knew that I had to listen to Mormon's challenge to pray about the book. I had to know for myself it was true. I was scared. What if everything I had been taught all my life wasn't true? Because I attempted prayer with so much fear, it was difficult for the Spirit to give me an answer. I needed to pray with an open heart. The next Sunday, at church, our lesson was on this very scripture of praying to know if the Book of Mormon is true. However, it struck me differently this time. I realized that I needed to also reflect on the many things the Savior has done for me and the world before I prayed. As I did this, my heart was full of peace and joy. I knew then, beyond any doubt, that this is Christ's church, that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I have received a witness of the Holy Ghost that this is Heavenly Father's church on earth. And I cannot deny what the Holy Ghost has told me.

How I live my faith

I am a counselor in the women's organization of the church (Relief Society). In doing this I visit the women in the congregation who need support and help keep church meetings running smoothly with uplifting music and lessons. At home I strive to be a nurturing and loving mother to my daughter and a loving and supportive wife to my husband. Every Monday night we devote to our family and we have a spiritual message followed by fun activities. I also strive to have personal and family scripture study and prayer daily. I live my faith by striving to live as Jesus lived and to have his image in my countenance.
