Hi I'm Dionne

I grew up in a large family in the suburbs of Northwest Chicago.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20-something female who was raised in the LDS faith. I grew up in the suburbs of the midwest and love the area. I had friends of all different faiths (and some without religion). I went to college out west and graduated in Elementary Education. I taught for 3 years before I decided to stay at home with my little boy. I am married to a wonderful man who loves his family and we have a great time together. We enjoy traveling, visiting new places, being active, watching movies and playing games. We have moved several times in our marriage and look forward to future opportunities in new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony of the church and the truths that are taught. I love and am grateful for my Lord, Jesus Christ. He has sacrificed his life so that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I also have a testimony of eternal families. I know that as I live the church teachings, I will be able to be with my family forever. I will be with my husband in the next life and I will be linked to my children forever. I remember when my dad was baptized, feeling so relieved that my family would be together forever. Despite being a life time member of the church (I was baptized at 8), my dad converted to the church after 20+ years of missionary discussions. My dad was baptized just months after me. I always knew I wanted that same security for my children, so I was married to my husband in an LDS temple for time and all eternity. I know that what is written in the Book of Mormon was written for us today to help us live righteously. I also have a strong testimony of missionary work. My dad was taught by several missionaries for several years and what a blessing their strength and diligence was to my family. Their never ending support and strong testimonies have brought my family to where we are today.

How I live my faith

I currently team teach in the primary (the children's group). I am a team teacher with my husband (I love working with him!) and we teach a wonderful group of 4-5 year olds. They are so strong in their beliefs and have no problems telling things exactly how they see it! I am also a Visiting Teacher. I visit some of the other women in the church once a month. I have a partner who comes with me and we share a gospel lesson and check in on the needs of these women. I love the women's organization and love to be a part of it!

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Church services are open to anyone and everyone! We love to have visitors and what better way to learn more about something new then going straight to the source! We have a service for the whole congregation as well as meetings for different groups (men, women and children). It is a great way to learn and grow from people who are similar to you (ie. women teaching women). Show more Show less
