Hi I'm Steven

I am a musician, a out-doorsman and I'm a mormon

About Me

I love to sing. I first got into singing in high school and haven’t looked back since. I have taken voice lessons and take any opportunity to share my talent with others. I also love outdoors stuff, pretty much any activity you can think of. Hiking, fishing, hunting, rock climbing, camping, horseback riding, you name it. I used to work with children with disabilities and at a retirement home which helped me develop unconditional love for people. This has helped me in so many ways in my current assignment as a full time missionary for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I honestly with all my heart believe that this church is Christ’s church. this has been made known to me through many experiences. I think the first time I came to know for myself to know that this is Christ’s church was when I was 14 and I found that I didn't know for myself of the truthfulness of this gospel, but I had been living off my parent's testimony. I decided to ask Heavenly Father in prayer if this is right. when I prayed I asked Heavenly Father simply, is this church true? is the book of Mormon true? was Joseph smith a prophet? in the moment that I asked these questions, I had remarkable feeling come over me. it was an overwhelming feeling of peace and love. I knew that that was my heavenly father telling me that I was doing the right thing. since that experience I have gone from a standstill of progression to a constant up hill clime towards eternal life with my family and my god. another reason I am a Mormon is because the way most of the Christian world views God simply doesn’t not make sense to me. in this church I have grown to not only know that god lives, but I have grown to know who he is and his characteristics. I have learned of his infinite love for me.

How I live my faith

As I mentioned earlier, I am a full time missionary for my church. I have set aside 2 years of my life to completely dedicate my time efforts and attention to serving the Lord. I help people to come to the knowledge that I have. I go door to door asking people if they want to learn more. I teach people in their homes. I have felt the deepest satisfaction from this calling. I love seeing the gospel completely change lives. There is nothing else I would rather be doing in my life than this.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Well...that is actually not true… at all… not even slightly. In acts Peter and the rest of the apostles, under the direction of the lord, chose Matthias as an apostle to replace Judas. Paul later became an apostle as well. From these events recorded in the scriptures it is made very clear that the lord meant very much so to have apostles continue to be called on the earth. Because of wickedness of those outside and inside the church all of them eventually got killed, but the lord has once again called apostles on the earth. That is why we have apostles because that is the way the lord wanted it to be. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is the knowledge that you receive from the Holy Ghost. So to bare your testimony is to make your testimony known. Show more Show less
