Hi I'm Justin

Learning. Tinkering. Playing. Always Walking Faster. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn. Sometimes I tell people that me hobby is to find new hobbies. Electronics are so fascinating and taking them apart makes your brain explode; then making new things out of them makes it even more fun. Other times, starting from scratch and baking delicious creations just for the joy of eating it afterward. I'm currently living far from from home, serving and teaching people about Jesus Christ's gospel. Over that last several months I've really woken up to spiritual things and really enjoy helping others see the same joy. When I do go home again, my brothers and I are going to bring the house down with our guitars and music electrifying every air stream.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had a pretty apathetic spiritual life up until about two years ago. I went through all the motions and simply trusted everyone that it was true; however, there comes a moments when everyone has to decide who they really are. I could go on about all these little evidences and reasons as to why I believe that this is the true church, but as far as how I know that it is; that is simply a fact that I feel way down inside. "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." (Romans 8:16) I feel it. As I consider this question or analyze this doubt, a fire burns inside that I can't really explain. It makes me feel awake and excited; it makes me want to act, and I know that anything that impels us to act on the good is of God. "But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God." (Moroni 7:13)

How I live my faith

The biggest way that I live my beliefs right now is by the mission I'm serving. Every day I leave the house teaching and talking to people about how they live and how they can more fully follow Jesus Christ in their lives. In order to even consider changing other peoples' lives, I have to be on the top of my game first. I've had to make a lot of changes in my personal life, but it puts me in a better position to help people with theirs.

What is faith?

Justin
Faith really means confidence and trust to me. Those two words help me see that faith is not only just believing. I trust God that there's a reason for me being here. I have confidence that He will bless me as I do the right thing. I trust him that He will take care of my family while I'm far away. I confide in Him the troubles and weaknesses that I stuggle with. I trust that He gives me strength when I feel weak. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sake, and so I do something about it: I go to church because I need to constantly learn about who Christ wants me to be. Every week I find one little I should do better. When I go home and do it; that's faith in action. Show more Show less
