Hi I'm Halsey

I'm a wife, mother, violinist, artist, health nut, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom who loves her family, the violin, and art. I have a toddler and another baby on the way. Together my husband and I enjoy cross-country skiing, going for walks, reading books, and playing ball. On the side I teach a few private violin students and dabble in colored pencil works.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ all growing up, and finally in my teenage years I decided for myself that it is true. The blessings of peace, security, faith, and love that have come into my life from being a member of the Church have helped me grow and survive through trials and challenges. I know Jesus is the Christ and that He has restored His Church to the earth once more. His Gospel has blessed me and my family to be more united and happy here and now.

How I live my faith

I try to keep my eyes open for people in need. As women we get to visit each other frequently to strengthen each other and be friends. I have enjoyed organizing meals for women who have new babies, helping people who are moving to pack or unpack, and writing notes to people who look like they might need a boost. And it has been a blessing to receive these services myself. I also consider the daily tasks of being a wife and mother as part of my faith. Sometimes laundry and hand-washing dishes isn't exactly how I'd like to use my time, but I find strength in knowing that doing those things helps my family to function successfully. Somebody's got to change diapers and clean up messes for children to grow up and be happy! So I do it. I consider it my contribution to a few of God's other children.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Not only do I believe it, I know it. God loves us just as much as He loved His children in the days of Moses, so He has provided a prophet to guide us today. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

You bet. The real name of our Church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints." We worship Jesus Christ and seek to emulate Him in all we do. Show more Show less
