Hi I'm Loraine

I live in Utah. I lived in a tent with my husband and 6 children for 2 1/2 years while we fixed our home. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. My name is Loraine and I'm the mother of 6 children and wife to a wonderful man. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren and 2 more on the way. I don't work outside the home anymore, but I do data entry for my husbands business, try to keep my home tidy and spend a lot of time cooking for my husband who has a lot of food allergies. I love to draw, work out in the yard, play the piano, whistle, and sing. I try to walk regularly and while I walk or hike, I love looking for rocks shaped like hearts. I have a lot of them! The heart rocks remind me that ordinary things can be beautiful. As we travel through our journey here on earth, we get tumbled around with different trials and events but if we allow ourselves to learn, we are shaped and become what our Heavenly Father wants us to be. Each day I am grateful for my beautiful surroundings and the blessings I have been given in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. Through living the principles of the gospel, I have a knowledge and testimony of the plan of salvation and eternal families. I have faith and hope in things that I cannot see or sometimes can't understand through the gift and power of the Holy Ghost, which was a gift I was given when I was baptized. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father that knows who I am and who loves me unconditionally. I am grateful for a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson and know we receive modern day revelation for these tumultuous times. As we are obedient to the commandments and counsel we are given, we will receive peace and comfort in our lives. I love the Book of Mormon and know that I can find answers to my daily questions by studying the pages of that book. I have had many struggles in my life and have had times of doubt but I know that through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, I have the opportunity to repent, change my life and move forward with happiness and contentment.

How I live my faith

I love taking soup to people! Soup is real food, a healing food. Something that takes me a long time to make, which allows me the opportunity to think about the person or persons I am taking it to. I think it is important to see the needs of others before I am asked to do something. My husband has been called as a ward mission leader, and I as a ward missionary and it has given us a lot of time to study together and to make visits to people in our neighborhood and see the needs of others more than our own. I have found that as I serve others, I am strengthened in my own life. There is a saying, "You can serve without loving, but you can't love without serving". I love that because it is true! I hope I can gain more love for my friends and neighbors as I learn to serve more.
