Hi I'm Ashton

I LOVE RITE AID ICE CREAM! Spending time with loved ones, and love volleyball, and I'm a Mormon. :D

About Me

Feeling the breeze on the shore or taking a drive through the mountain ranges I feel is the best way to experience life. I'm 21 years old right now and a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm serving a mission in the Texas Houston South Mission , Spanish Speaking. I love being out here to give my life and heart to the Lord. I was raised up in a city called Thousand Oaks, just about 45 minutes north of Los Angeles, in southern California. I love to be on the beach or biking or playing volleyball with my pals anytime I can, I Love Rite Aid ice cream! and Reese's cup cookies! After I am off my mission, I plan to go and finish up college, and start my career to save up money to start a family. I am blessed to have great examples in my life such as my older Brother and my two younger sisters who are trying to be as close to the Lord as possible. I can trust my parents with anything, I guess I was the weird kid with my friends on Friday nights, instead of going out partying which is common in LA, I wanted to be home with my family. I have the best example and strength in the whole world, she has helped me through so many trials and continues to lift and encourage me. She too is serving the Lord on a mission in Brazil. I love my Savior, my Redeemer, I know He lives, I have seen the great Atonement in my life, and it has helped me to come to know of his light. The Lord shapes the back to carry the burden which was placed upon it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all of my life, but haven't come to the full meaning and understanding of the importance and how meaningful as it is to me now. I feel that I have always done good, and tried hard to make the best choices as I could with the knowledge that I had. But everyone tends to be frail and fall and trip up at certain times. There came a point where I had to ask myself, if the way I was living, the way I wanted to live. I knew it wasn't. After going through the process of repentance, and seeing the great joy and feeling of all the faults and frailties just go away, I have never wanted to go back. I have come to see the truth of the gospel and how much happiness it holds. I'm able to have so much knowledge to keep the commandments. As in Psalms," Give me understanding and i shall keep thy law." I have loving family members and wonderful friends after recognizing the light that the gospel holds, and I am able to see and help people now to come to the same light and understanding that I have. My friends continue to uplift me and now I am able to account for myself on choices I make each day. I am able to witness what love actually feels like according to the standards that God has placed. And to have your heart and soul burn and yearn to live the commandments and come closer with family and special relationships. I am a member because it makes me happy! I am a member because I am a better person than I would be without it. I am a member because I love Jesus Christ and I want to live with Him and Heavenly Father for all eternity. I am a member because I know that families are forever, and my wish is to have my dream eternal family :)

How I live my faith

Right now I am out serving a mission along with thousand of others who have heeded the call to serve the Lord for a short period of our lives. But when I return home, I will not stop sharing something that means so much to me. I will continue to be the person that my Heavenly Father wants me to become every second of every day any where and everywhere that I am. Its apart of me, it defines me. As stated in the Doctrine and Covenants 108, to constantly strengthen and lift up those around you in prayer, and in act. That is how I feel that I can magnify my calling as a member of the church, but also as who I am. I am so thankful for everyone in different parts of the world, who continue to strengthen others in times of disaster or other causes.
