Hi I'm Paulette

I lived all over the world while growing up in the military. Now we live in the beautiful South. I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a wife, mother and grandmother. My favorite sport is snow skiing. I have broken my leg twice while skiing. The first time I was 10 yrs old and the second time was when I met my husband. I can say that I really "fell" for him. Participating in activities with family has brought me great joy and happiness. I didn't realize life had many different phases - each one teaching me something new. We have moved several times through the years and have made good friends of all faiths at each place. Besides snow skiing, we enjoy bowling, camping, mountain biking and going to the lake as a family. We cherish the time when we are all together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow Jesus Christ. I was raised in the Mormon faith but most of my friends were members of other religions. I studied their beliefs and prayed to know what path to follow. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and came to know that the church Jesus Christ organized over 2000 years ago, was restored again to the earth today. The teachings of the Gospel bring peace to my heart and I know that even during trials and hardships, Jesus Christ knows me personally and is my Savior.

How I live my faith

I participate actively in the Church. I currently work with the women in our church. I work with others to plan weekly Sunday lessons to help mothers become spiritually stronger and to help them teach their families correct principles. We encourage and plan community service projects like collecting canned goods for local food banks and clothing for homeless shelters. We teach skills to be self reliant like making homemade bread, learning new sewing techniques and food storage. Serving gives me joy and great happiness. Serving helps to take the focus off of my own problems.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I remember when my first child was placed in my arms. I had never been a mother before and I was nervous. When I looked at that little baby so sweet and innocent, I felt a love burn in my heart that I had never felt before. At that moment, I knew that I also had a Father in Heaven who loved me as much, if not more, than I loved my new baby. I know this life has meaning and purpose. We are not here by chance. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

When I was a teenager, I was asked to testify in court and be a witness for a friend of mine. In that instance, I told what I knew to be true. A "testimony" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is similar. I express my testimony and say what I know and believe to be true regarding the teachings of the Gospel and my belief in God. Through earnest prayer and living Gospel principles, I have come to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that anyone who prays sincerely and asks with real intent can also receive a testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Show more Show less
