Hi I'm Jason Garcia

I'm from Southern California, studying part-time, working full-time, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Some of my hobbies are dancing. I like to dance hip-hop, breakdance and latin dance. Lifting weights and keeping in shape are a big part of my life. it keeps me healthy and clears my head, especially if I have a bad day. In my spare time, I like to play the drums. I've had a few bands in the past with some friends, but I haven't had too much time for that because of studies. I'm a single student studying fire science. A lot of my time has been going into studying firefighting by going on ride alongs.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to become, and continue to become, an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints becuase of the spiritual experiences I have been through. I began to read the Book of Mormon when I was about 17 years old. I have always been taught by my parents and leaders of my wards that if I would read the Book of Mormon, and pray to God about the book, God would reveal the truth of the Book of Mormon to me through the power of the Holy Ghost. I was also told that I can become closer to Jesus Christ and understand why He did what He did when he was on the earth. So for the first time on my own accord, I read from page 1 and I knew that the Book of Mormon was true as I continued to read. My faith was strengthened as I continued to read and I recieved a testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that His true church & gospel is found here. I wanted to share it to everybody because it brought me so much joy, so I decided to serve a mission for the church. I served for 2 years in the Stockholm, Sweden mission and those were precious years of my life. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is God's true church on this earth and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, just as the bible is.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday to show God that I want to continue to follow Him. I visit certain members of my local ward and hometeach them monthly. It strengthens me, seeing others in the church faithfully and blesses me by getting to know others. I help set up weekly activities in my ward called family home evening.
