Hi I'm Mark Kenison

I am a Certified Financial Planner. I like bee keeping, motorcycles, fishing & snowboarding. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad of 5. I enjoy spending time with my family going camping, fishing, hiking, and riding bicycles. I have studied finance in college and am currently a Certified Financial Planner. I enjoy helping people plan for and save for retirement. My wife and I love to work in the garden together. I am also a beekeeper and have 3 colonies of honey bees in my yard. It's amazing what we can learn from how bees work together to accomplish difficult things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and grew up near Salt Lake City Utah. I believe that every member of this church needs to be converted at some point in their lives to find out for themselves that it is true. This happened for me when I was 18 years old. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth, and that it is led by a prophet of God today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending weekly church meetings with my family on Sunday's. I also take my boys who are old enough to youth activities at the church on Tuesday nights. I try to study the scriptures and pray each day so that I can learn more about Christ's gospel and keep the Holy Spirit in my life. In our local congregation I serve as a clerk where I help keep track of church member records and financial records. I attend regular Thursday night meetings to take care of those responsibilities. I have 3 families in our congregation that I am assigned to check on and visit at least monthly. They have become good friends of mine and I always enjoy visiting them.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mark Kenison
Mormons are taught to help and serve all of God's children. After hurricane Katrina I traveled to Mississippi with a group of about 60 men from the Charlotte, NC region to help clean up the mess. We didn't know any of the people we helped, and many of them couldn't believe that strangers would come and cut up their downed trees for free. It was a great experience that I will always remember.
