Hi I'm Shanae

I grew up in Kaysville, Utah. I play college volleyball, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student athlete in college and i play volleyball. I gained my passion for the game at a young age and was blessed enough to continue it on into the collegiate level. Volleyball gives me the opportunity to meet many people from different parts of the world from different cultures and backgrounds. It also gives me the opportunity to share what i believe multiple times a week since there are people of different failths on my team. Besides playing lots of volleyball, my other interests are spending time at the lake and in the mountains with my family. We love the outdoors!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is eveything i am. I was born into the church and have stayed active because of the incredible feelings and knowledge i get from participating in His gospel. The Mormon religion has made me into everything that i am. Take away the LDS church from me, and i would no longer be who i am.

How I live my faith

I belong to a young single adult ward near my college campus so, on monday night's my ward get's together for a big group activity which is what I am in charge of. We have done all sorts of activities from cake decorating, to visiting temple square, to having game nights. It is such a fun and relaxing night of the week, and a great way to get to know other people my age. I love it!

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Shanae
We believe that everyone get's the opportunity to accept Heavenly Father's gospel whether it's here on this earth or after we pass on. Baptism is the first ordinance of accepting his plan, so that is why we perform proxy baptisms. So those who have passed on my have the chance to accept the gospel if they want to since they no longer have a body to perform the ordinance themselves. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Shanae
We believe the bible to be true as long as it was translated correctly. The bible is the history of God's people in the old world, and the book of mormon is the history of god's people in the new world. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are two books that go right together. They are both about Jesus Christ and we regard them both as Holy Scripture. Show more Show less
