Hi I'm Janz

I'm Canadian. I love basketball. I love sky diving. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Well I would like to think that I am a pretty simple person with not too much under my belt already but eventually getting there. Athletics have been a large part of my life for a long time now and the only way that I have been able to do so much has been because of my family. I have three brothers that always made life exciting and taught me the importance of self-mastery.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but I had to find the religion to be true for myself through a lot of searching. People around me seemed very sure of the faith and it really did inspire me to find that answer. Through some time in studying the Book of Mormon and taking the opportunity to ask God in prayer I was able to receive that answer very strongly. Now looking back I can see that it brought me and my family closer together than anything and probably kept me out of a whole lot of trouble.  Now as I have been able to see that conversion within my life and to live the things that have been asked of me to follow and I have seen so many blessings. Especially the important fact that with the help of the Lord I really can accomplish anything that I set my mind to. I'm not perfect, nobody is, but with the strength that the Lord provides I have seen my life go higher than I ever thought possible and totally attribute that fact to the Lords hand.

How I live my faith

By sharing the happiness that I have with others. Living the things that the prophets have asked of me has only brought blessings and I enjoy the love that I feel from so many others with the same faith. I'm not perfect and I'll be one of the first to admit that but I am trying to be the best that I can. For me that means constantly changing and always looking to the example of Christ and his life here on Earth.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Our belief is in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redemeer. Through the sacrifices that he made while he was here on Earth we are able to overcome all of our weaknesses. Christ has called a prophet on the Earth today who has organized his church and who continues to recieve revelation. Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is essential! Following the example that Christ has given us is one of the most important things that we can do. He lived the straight and narrow path and showed us the footsteps that we should take and that is why we live the way that we do. Even during his life he went to John the Baptist who held the authority to baptize from God so that he could participate in this saving act and to fulfill all righteousness. Jesus Christ didn't need to be baptized to cleanse himself from sin, he was already perfect but he did do it so that he could follow the commandments that were given from our Father in Heaven to each and every one of us. We believe that all need to be baptized just as Christ was and that without it we cannot come back into the presence of God. Those who have passed on into the next life can no longer perform their own baptism but through proxy, or the act of someone living today being baptized for them they are able to receive the cleansing effect. What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Often I have heard from others that they feel as Mormons we believe that it is only through our works that we can be with our father in heaven again but that is untrue. It is only through the grace of God and the sacrifice that has been made by his son Jesus Christ that we are able to move on past this life. As we have faith in Christ and what he has done for us we are then able to take a hold of his sacrifice and be cleansed through his love. This doesn't mean that we can do whatever we want afterward though, for me faith is very much so an action word and as we believe that God is there and that he loves us we desire to follow the commandments that he has given us. That is where the effort comes in, doing what has been asked of us but again without the life of Christ it would all be for naught. Show more Show less
