Hi I'm Christina

I am a musician, a mom, and I home-school my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom, and I home-school my children. I am married to a wonderful man who I love more than words can tell! I also teach piano and French horn lessons. I am a certified herbalist and love learning about ways to help our family be more healthy. I love music, a good book, and most of all- my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up surrounded with friends and family in the gospel. I was baptized at age 8, and I had the very beginnings of a testimony. It wasn't until I was in college and engaged to be married that I really started gaining a testimony of my own. Shortly after getting engaged, my little brother suddenly passed away, and that experience combined with the prospect of gaining an eternal companion really gave me the opportunity to check my testimony, to dig down deep, and to know for myself if the principles of this gospel are true or not. I'm happy to say that I know they are! And I'm so grateful to know that I will see my brother again, and that my husband and I can be together forever. I choose to be a member of this church because I know that when I live my life in harmony with the teachings of the church, my life is blessed. Trials come, and they always will, but I know that as long as I continue to be obedient and patiently endure the hard times, Heavenly Father pours out blessings for me and for my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a quiet, simple sort of way, for that is the kind of person that I am. Being an example of a righteous woman, wife, and mother is something I strive for every day. Mostly though, I just try to be happy. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the biggest blessing in my life, and I have every reason to choose to be happy each day. I do my best to teach my children the difference between right and wrong, and I help them understand the blessings that come from making good choices. I also use my musical talents during the Sunday meetings- I play the organ and the piano every Sunday. Music is such a wonderful way to bring that calm, sweet spirit to our meetings.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a code of health that we live by to take care of our bodies. In the new testament the question is asked- "know ye not that ye are the temple of God?" I believe that our bodies are sacred, just as temples are. The Word of Wisdom includes "do's" and "dont's". The dont's are there to avoid addictive habits and keep our bodies clean. They include things like no smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, and no tobacco. The do's tell us how to properly nourish our bodies. They include things like eating fresh fruits and vegetables in their seasons, eat meat in small portions and only in winter or famine, and to use herbs in our diet as well. By adhering to these guidelines and avoiding addictive substances, we free ourselves and can then enjoy good health. Show more Show less
