Hi I'm Nathen

I'm a musician, I'm a missionary, and I'm a convert of 3 years.

About Me

Hey guys, my name is Nathen. I'm currently serving in the Utah Salt Lake City South mission. I was baptized 3 years ago and love the church. I have 4 in my family and we're hangout people. I like hockey and playing sports in general. I enjoy trying different foods. I get to especially on my mission. I'm a bored eater but not fat haha. chimichangas pass the time away and Reese's is the best candy ever. There is nothing cooler than music. i play like 4 instruments and I arrange music too. i'm not too big into reading but the mission is teaching me to. I'm just a genuine happy person...

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church about 5 years ago. I was convinced to stick around the church for a while when I learned about the Plan of Salvation. I used to be Jehovah Witness. When I saw the outline that the church taught on this matter, it made so much sense. from that day forward, I went to church every Sunday and learned more and more and I found sriptures to back up what I had been learning. the other thing I really like about this church is there is a source; a beginning to all this and we can study, ponder, pray about these things. The Book of Mormon is very powerful. I absolutely have received a true testimony of it. Because I have received these things, I went on a mission. the decision didn't go without struggle but I'm happily serving and have witnessed the change that the true Gospel has on people. Christ healed my soul. He lives and is the head of this church. I have seen his Holy Priesthood; his authority at work, it's real, and I know these things to be true in the sacred name of our utmost Saviour Messiah, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Well, currently I'm serving as a full-time missionary. I get to spend 2 years of my life telling people about why the message we carry has made me happy. Missionaries just like me shared the same message with me and now I get the same opportunity. I'm serving in Spanish and I love the people and the food. We get the youth and other adults to play basketball, soccer, and sometimes dodgeball. We do a lot of service like cleaning up driveways from snow, painting houses, moving people from house to house, and more...

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Ultimately, to know that Mormonism is true it really comes down to you and God. James talks about this. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth all men liberally, and upbraideth (judges) not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:5-6) This is what everyone must do if someone wants to know but just like the scripture says, you have to have faith, not doubting anything. Then if you ask God in the name of Jesus Christ, with a sincere heart, and with real intent; then the Holy Ghost will answer the desires you seek. This is what i did, but you can't expect an answer without doing all of these things. The answer comes like it did to me sometimes through feelings, your thoughts; a feeling of peace, comfort, and mercy. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom can also be referred to as the law of health. A lot of people view this subject as what you can eat or take and what not to when they miss the real reason for it. the Word of Wisdom helps us stay spiritually clean so we can have the influence of the holy ghost in our lives. If we are under the influence of something addicting or a substance that diminishes our freedom to choose, then it makes it probably impossible to have the Holy Ghost in our lives. That's why it's important that we don't take in tobacco, we don't drink black or Green tea, we dont use illegal drugs, we don't drink alcohol, and we don't drink coffee. There are just some things in this life that comes from the Earth that can only be used in one good way like for Animals and for other things like our bodies, probably not the best way. The Word of Wisdom also brings up that we need to make sure we're eating healthy things like grain, herbs, wheat, and eating meat but not too much. And the promise for obeying this law of health is that we will receive strength described as treasures. We will receive physical, mental, and spirtual strength. That'll ultimately help us have the Holy Ghost in our lives and we will be guided to do what God wants. Show more Show less
