Hi I'm Karina

I was raised in Cali, I'm a wife, a mother of 4 wonderful kids (between 5 & 13 yrs old) and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I came to California since I was very young, I met my husband in my last year of high school and been together ever since. We have 4 kids who drive us crazy sometimes but who we LOVE so much. My 2nd baby was a stillbirth and we miss her so much. I love to read anything and everything that can help me become a better person, mother, wife, etc. :) I had never heard about Mormons growing up. The 1st time I knew about them was thru my sis-in-law in 2010. I did not want to know anything about the church. Specially when I had to face my problems and take responsibility for my actions; it was easier to avoid them by doing things I still knew were wrong to do. As we received the lessons from our wonderful missionaries, I did start to pray, and gradually I was more open to learn more and apply it in my life. It took only 5-6 months to get baptized and my life has completely changed since then!! As of today, it has been 2 yrs of our baptism and we are now sealed as an Eternal Family!!! We have received, felt and lived thru so many blessings, we cannot stop counting them!! We are more than grateful to our Heavenly Father for this great opportunity to change our lives!! We have truly felt His love, and we have put our trust in Jesus Christ that we wouldn't want to stop growing closer to Them :)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it helps me get closer to my Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I believe in God the Eternal Father, in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. I know that thru Jesus Christ's atonement we can become clean again, something I had lost hope on many years ago. I know that thru repentance we can truly change our lives and obtain that wonderful peace we all deserve. I know that the trials and tribulations we go thru, it's only to shape us into better children for our Father in Heaven and it's the only way we can return back to Him. I'm a Mormon because I know my Father lives, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that families can be together forever. I'm a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I love it!!! (Sister Dibb from the October 2012 General conference) It's true :)

How I live my faith

I have had 3 callings since I joined the church. Each of them have helped me grow so much. In one of them I was part of the young women and I was able to get closer to my daughter. Being involved with the youth was amazing! Their enthusiasm, honesty and great faith in Heavenly Father really showed me the meaning of love. Now I teach 11-12 yr old's and it's a great experience to help them know what to do at times of trials, to rely on the scriptures, to obey the commanments, to listen to our Prophet, etc. As I prepare each class, it helps me so much to study the scriptures and I have found answers, and understanding in what Heavenly Father wants from me. It is a great opportunity to guide this children in getting closer to Him, and to know what Jesus Christ did for us. I've also had the opportunity to serve others, not only thru my calling but as I strive to be a Disciple of Jesus Christ, to others too. Being able to provide for a meal, clean a house, or even go to the hospital with a worried mother because her daughter got very sick, has made me feel useful, needed, blessed, grateful. I know He wants all of us to give what we can, do what we can to others who are in greater need. I also live my faith by applying little by little everything I learn, sometimes it takes more than two times to get used to changing certain habits, and i'm still working on many things I need to change. But I have faith and I work on my faith to make those changes.
