Hi I'm Daniel

I am an excited Father to be, a soon to graduate student and ... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Father to be (June 2nd) and a student. I'm finishing a BSEE and preparing to rejoin the workforce, this time as an Electrical Engineer. I am the second child in my family with an older sister and two younger brothers. I love to read. I love to watch Sci-Fi and Fantasy. My wife is the best one ever, and I am so lucky to have her in my life. I like to run and ride my bike. Riding at the beach is currently my favorite form of exercise but it varies.

Why I am a Mormon

John chapter 7 verse 17 says, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." That is Jesus talking. His point is that His gospel is one of action and doing. He also says that by performing the actions required by His gospel that a person can know for themselves that the doctrine is truly from God. I apply that to every principle of the gospel and have never been disappointed. Every time I live a gospel principle I can feel the truth of it. I follow the principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because the principles are true. I test each one by living it. If the Prophet says read the scriptures to get closer to Heavenly Father, I read the scriptures and check to see if I feel closer to Heavenly Father. When the prophet says pay tithing and you'll be blessed financially, I pay tithing and see if I am blessed financially. When the prophet says serve in the church and your family will be blessed, I serve in the church and see if my family is blessed. Every time I follow the council of the Prophet, who is Christ's spokesman on earth, I receive the blessing that he said I would. It works for all the principles, whether from the current prophet or from the Bible or the Book of Mormon. A great test that proves to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church.

How I live my faith

Living ones beliefs is far from simply believing something. My faith is integrated into my life. Currently I get up in the morning and after the regular morning routine (eat, brush teeth, get dressed, etc...) I study and read my scriptures. I pray for the day ahead of me. How can one say it clearer than, "I live the Gospel?" Part of my time each week is spent going out with our Missionaries. We visit other members, or we visit people who are investigating the church. We teach the gospel and we try to uplift those we see. In our ward I've been asked to be the leader of the Missionary work. I hold a meeting weekly with the Full time Missionaries and the Ward Missionaries. We discuss what's happening, potential people to visit, and ideas to help the other members of the ward do missionary work also. So far that's all just stuff that is part of routine weeks. I think what really shows me living my faith is the more simple stuff like what I choose to watch/not watch on TV, what I choose to do/not do on Sundays. What I choose to say/not say to my friends and neighbors. That's a good reflection of me living my faith.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

When all things are considered the Church grows because it's true. Weather it's because you are baptized into the Church or because you are born into a family already members of the Church the end result is that it's true and people stay because they know it's true. Show more Show less
