Hi I'm Jordan

I'm a college student, I'm a full-time missionary, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

My mom drives a Suburban, I am the oldest of six children, and I don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol . . . but those things don't make me "Mormon". My faith in Jesus Christ and desire to serve Him and dedicate my life to His gospel are what make me a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or a "Mormon". I am currently a full-time missionary. I spend all day, every day sharing my testimony about the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings me so much joy! I will serve as a full-time missionary for a total of 18 months, after which I will return to my home and my education. I love spending time with my family. We enjoy playing card games, watching my brothers play sports, and wakeboarding on the lake near our home in the summer. Some of my other favorite hobbies include snowboarding, cooking, and crafts of any kind.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and we have a living prophet on the Earth today. I have taken the the promise given by the last prophet in the Book of Mormon, Moroni chapter 10 verses 3-5, and have come to know for myself that it's true through the power of the Holy Ghost. Knowing that the Book of Mormon is true allows me to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and that his successors are also prophets called of God. Although there is much truth elsewhere, the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ is contained in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith right now by serving as a full-time missionary for the Church. I go door-to-door teaching people about the fullness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Missionary work is the most fullfilling work there is! Of that I am sure!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. The young men of the church are strongly encouraged to serve missions, but it is a choice that each of them have to make for themselves. Being a missionary is demanding, and you have to have the desire and the will to be a missionary in order to have any success. You also have to be worthy, keeping all of the commandments God has revealed to us through scripture and living prophets. When it comes to young women, there is not the strong encouragement there is for the young men, but our service is welcomed. I never planned on serving a mission! In fact, I was pretty opposed to it. Not because I didn't believe the Church was true but because I was terrified of leaving my family for 18 months. But, when I turned 20, I started feeling like it was something that I should consider. I tried to shrug it away, but after many prayers and several experiences I decided it was something God wanted me to do. I am so grateful that with God's help I was able to make that decision and that I am a missionary today!  Show more Show less
