Hi I'm Matt

Born in Cali, joined the military and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Matt, I was born in California and then my family moved to Utah when I was still a kid. I care very much for my family and I have learned a lot from them. I come from a big family so my siblings and I are pretty close and we love to have fun. I enjoy spending time with all of my siblings, especially when we have family focussed games. I learned from my parents to care for others and for our country. I joined the U.S. Air Force and I am enrolled in college. I love paintballing and any activity outside, especially the "high adventure" activities. I love shooting, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and just going for a run. I'm trying to be a leader in my life to help others continue in the same happiness that I've experienced in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I've still had some hard times in my life, we all do. But the Book of Mormon has been my constant guide through life. I have received a very strong witness of the truthfulness of God's word that I cannot deny it. It speaks to us in this day and age about our Savior who lives and what He has accomplished for us. That is how I came to know who my Savior is and what I need to do to follow Him. To me you can come from any tradition in the world and you are excepted as a brother/sister. The only important things in this life is Jesus Christ and His Gospel that allows us the chance to return to heaven again after this life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life at a higher standard and be an example to others. I tried to participate in all of the activities a youth could. I taught a class to the youth of the church and was a companion to my father when he would visit other members in the community to teach and serve. I also served a two year mission teaching the gospel to anyone who would listen. It has been a great foundation of my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and has taught me how to serve to everyone in the community.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We know that families are central to our Father's plan. Our Father in Heaven wants us to be together with our families forever. Fathers and Mothers should work together, with Jesus Christ as their base, to raise and teach their families in happiness and love. Children also have a part in respecting their parents and helping one another through all challenges this life might present. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, families can find pure joy in this life and understand their purpose together. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the sacrifice that He made for all of us that includes His suffering in Gethsemane, being scurged and crucified, and it ended in His triumphant resurrection. Jesus Christ did this for us so that he can know how to heal us and care for us in our times of need. Through the Atonement of Christ we have the opportunity to be forgiven of our mistakes and through our faithfulness to His gospel we can return and live with Christ, our Heavenly Father, and our families for all eternity.  Show more Show less
