Hi I'm Katie

I'm from Wyoming. I like Dirtbiking, Quilting, Horses, and I love Kids. I'm serving a mission & Yes, I'm a MORMON!

About Me

I'm a small town girl from Wyoming. I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My life gets pretty crazy sometimes between work family and school but I love life and all the chaos.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a generational Mormon family. This is not why I'm a Mormon though. I'm a Mormon because after all is said and done my Heavenly Father and my earthly family is all that really matters to me. Being a Mormon helps me to live my life so that my family and I can return to live with God Eternally. During the most difficult times in my life I've always been able to count on my family and also on God. He always lets me know He is there for me. I always get relief when I pray to Him or read the Holy Scriptures.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a missionary in the Washington DC South Mission. I love it!!!! I am able to give service everyday. I love being able to share that I know God lives and is our Heavenly Father. Before my mission I served in what is called the Primary. It is the organization for Children ages 18 months to 12 years old. I worked with the 4 year olds and loved how eager they are to learn especially about God. I also served as a camp director for a Young Women's camp for girls aged 12-18 years old. It was so much fun to teach them how to camp and cook outside. My favorite thing about Girls Camp is doing service. We cut out paper moons and baught moon pies and stuck them all over another group of campers' tents and wrote a note saying you've been mooned. This is what I love about the Church. You get to strengthen your faith in God while having a great time.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Katie
To me the law of Chastity is a protection. It means having sexual relations only within marriage. It is something sacred and special to share with the person that your going to share the rest of your life with.I think being chaste is really awesome because the world is becoming so relaxed in its morals and this is just a reminder that procreation is ordained of God for Husband and Wife. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Katie
Only some members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are allowed to participate in the activities that take place in the temples. The Temple is the House of God and we know that no unclean person should defile His home. However, there are many things that you need to do in preparation for attending the temple. For instance, one needs a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His atonement and of His Gospel. Nothing in the temple is a secret. It is however very sacred. Inside the temples it is beautiful and white. They are elegant buildings built for the Lord. In the temple we make covenants or promises to our Heavenly Father about how we are going to live our lives. We pray a lot in the temple and receive instruction on how to remain pure and clean. This sacred work allows us to be with our families forever. As we become ready to enter the temple we feel good about making promises to Heavenly Father and are able to live up to those promises. I love going to the temple and being able to feel the peace and happiness there. Also, anytime a new temple is built you may attend a free open house for the general public and see for yourself what the temple looks like. And, you are always welcome to visit the beautiful temple grounds. Show more Show less
