Hi I'm Thomas

i was born in vermont and lived there my entire life so far. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 5' 11". blonde hair, bluish green eyes, I love being outdoors and enjoying the life that the outside world contains. i love hunting, fishing snowbording, skiing, swimming, boxing, and anything that can get my adrenaline going. I am single and on my mission for the church. unfortunatly my mission ends in may of this year (2011) i am loving the opportunity to help others and to serve my fellow man. i am in the Army National Guard as a cavalry scout. i plan on going to college to get my associates in criminal justice. i plan on being a member of a swat team.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church. i never questioned why until i went to basic training in the summer of 2008. i realized it was because of the standards and ethics that i was taught that i truly love about being a member of the church. after i came back from basic training i decided that if i truly wanted to know if it was true i needed to find out if Joseph Smith was a prophet or not. if he was a prophet of our Lord God, then the Book of Mormon is Gods word and Jesus is the christ a separate being from God the Father. Joseph said he saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ in the spring of 1820 in palmyra New York. so i decided to study it out in my mind and read as much as i could about the prophet. as i read and pondered and thought of what i was doing in life and reading i was overcome by this calm feeling like a gentle warm wave was washing over me over and over again. i stopped what i was doing and knelt down and offered up my heart and soul to the God i was searching for. i didnt hear a voice yet that feeling, that overwhelming feeling of warmth stayed with me and it felt as though someone wrapped their arms around me to comfort me even more. from that moment on i simply knew that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. that he was an ordinary man with an extraordinary calling one that came directly from God and Jesus Christ themselves. I know that Joseph saw god the father and Jesus Christ because i searched pondered and prayed about what i wished to know, "and by the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things." (Moroni 10:5) The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints is Christs true church restored to the earth one last time and will never be taken away. it will last and continue to grow throughout the millenium. and when Christ comes again he will lead us all into the Kingdom of our lord God, Where we will recieve eternal life and exhaltation.

How I live my faith

Because i am a missionary i live my faith by simply doing as christ would do. i am going about doing good trying my hardest to help others in any situation that i find them in. i have served for 21 months now and have made friendships that will last a lifetime and beyond. the service that christ gave was his entire life on this earth and he is still serving us now in his own way simply by letting us know that our father in heaven does care and that, "insignificant as you may seem in this grand universe, YOU ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF GOD'S PLAN." (words of Roma Downey) the only and best way that i can explain how i live my faith is simple. It is a commandment from God to serve, "And behold i tell you these things that you may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17)

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith. that name has been had for good and evil. many people confuse our joy for josephs desire for worshipping him. the lord god has said, "thou shalt have no other gods before me" this is a commandment and worshipping anything or anyone other than the one true god and loving him by serving him is breaking this commandment and if we break this commandment then it wouldn't be christs true church on the earth today. but we only worship god the father and his son jesus christ. it is by their good will and grace that we may be able to have this knowledge. i know Joseph Smith was called of God to restore one last time the Fullness of the Everlasting gospel and that The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints is gods church restored to the earth today. how glorious this gospel is!
