Hi I'm Katie

I'm a wife, daughter, friend, employee, sister, and aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Katie. I live in Utah but grew up most of my life in Georgia. Growing up in Georgia was wonderful! The beautiful trees, humidity, warm weather, and good people made for a great place to grow up. As a teenager, I enjoyed playing soccer, hanging with friends, and working. I was very active in my High School Chorus's and loved singing every minute I could. At age 18, I moved away from home to attend college where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Marriage, Family, and Human Development. In 2009, I met my husband for the first time. We dated a short time and got engaged after 3 months. We were engaged for 4 months and got married in May 2010 in the San Diego Temple. Meeting him has changed my life in ways I can't express. He is my everything. Currently, I am a full-time employee for a hospital to support my husband through school. I enjoy cooking, being organized and clean, learning the guitar, movies, reading, and love babies!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents grew up Mormon, and therefore, so did I. Being born in the church, I mainly leaned on my parents testimonies. The older I got, the stronger testimony I gained on my own. Everything goes through trials and hard times in their life. One of the hardest times in my life was mourning my brother's unexpected death in 2001. When death arrives, I think you can either draw closer to the Lord or further away. During this hard time, I drew closer to my Father in Heaven. My testimony of the church grew as well, and I knew with all my heart that this church is true. The Lord helped me get through the pain that I felt from losing my brother. With time, my heart was healed. I am Mormon because I know that we can have a family forever and that we can one day see our loved ones again. I am Mormon because I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants only what is best for us. I know he gives us trials for our growth. I am grateful to be Mormon and to know that I am going to be with my husband and future kids forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my callings in my ward, being an example to others, following our modern day prophets, and keeping the Lords commandments. My husband and I are currently Ward Temple Night Coordinators. We plan a day during the month where our ward can go to the temple. Throughout the week, I live my faith by praying everyday to my Heavenly Father, reading scriptures, holding Family Home Evening, and much more. I think one of the greatest things I do to show my faith, is be an example of what we stand for.
