Hi I'm Libby

I'm obsessed with salad spinners, argyle shirts, Sharpie Markers, Haribo Gummy Candy, travel'n, & Netflix. Heck YEAH I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a single southern Utah Mormon gal - roll your eyes, who is living in Chicago. I am work'n it as a Flight Attendant, and love it! I have always wanted to be a flight attendant, and it has taken me a very long time to reach this dream of serving drinks in the sky. After serving a mission I decided (and because my mission president told me I needed to get an education) to attend school. Seven, maybe eight years later - who's counting, I finally came to an end of the whole, "student for life" lifestyle. FINISHING my bachelors degree in Family Consumer Science Secondary Education (that's a "Home Economics Teacher" - I know right, you have to have a degree to teach this subject) was a major accomplishment for me. Teaching was not for me, but I wanted to finish my goal. With that said, I am certain the Lord knows what's best for me, and I would not be where I am today had He not guided and directed my paths. Now if he could just guide me to an eternal companion...some would say that being single in the Mormon church is hard, but I know that eternity is a very long time and this time here on earth is just a small particle in the whole scheme of things. I love being single and continuing to grow in ways I wouldn't be able to had I been married. When that time of marriage comes it will be glorious, and I will be super prepared. Until then, I will continue to let the Lord guide me. Maybe He will guide me to that handsome single Mormon pilot flying the plane. Psshh - I can dream! ;)

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Because I was raised in the Mormon church. I followed the example of my parents and other members of the church. Nothing grand and marvelous. Although, at the age of 22 I decided to serve a mission. (Only because I wasn't doing much else in my life.) However, once getting my mission call and entering the "mission field" my testimony became my own, and grew leaps and bounds! The Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me so happy! I love these truths and teachings, and I know that they are true principles!!!

How I live my faith

I live the faith by accepting the callings that I am given. I have had several different opportunities to serve in the church. As of the most recent time period in my life, I am a teacher in the church. I taught the Gospel Principles class each week. (This class is for people who are seeking to know more about the church, new members, and members who just want to get back to the basics.) I loved that calling, but now they put me in a new calling with the 8-9 year old children in Primary. Woosh - it's been an experience. These kiddos are a handful at times, but I have come to love them dearly. I love the opportunity to teach, learn, and do my part in the gospel.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Missionary work - DONE THROUGH THE MEMBERS! Back in the day when I did the whole mission thing - I found most of my success through the active members of the church. Plus, when these dear folks joined the church and I returned home they continued to stay active because they have good friendly active members keeping them alive in the gospel. Show more Show less
