Hi I'm Ashley

I was born in Bellevue WA, grew up in West Valley City UT, and am now living in London UK. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Southern Utah University in 2001 with a BS in Dance and a Minor in History. Upon graduation I was hired to operate the Dance program at a Junior High School where I taught for 6 years. I loved teaching and working with students ages 13-15. I have 2 magnificent children of my own, and am grateful to have had the opportunity to be both a working mom and a stay at home mom. I love to run and have completed 2 marathons a half marathon and am training for a third marathon. I enjoy learning new things and want to know how to everything I see. I love music, dance, and theatre, as well as hiking, travelling, and sports. I am currently living in the United Kingdom and spend my Saturday's visiting Castles and historic sights. I have wonderful friends and family members and love to spend my spare time helping those in need. I strongly believe in the words of King Benjamin, "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God (Mosiah 2:17)."

Why I am a Mormon

I have heard the saying, "If it doesn't make sense, it is't true." Well, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints DOES make sense and it IS true. Minoring in History taught me how to delve into the past and explore the lives and cultures of ancient civilisations. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches that when Jesus Christ was crucified and all the Apostles killed, the true church left the earth. In order for the truth to exist a total Restoration of the Church as it was in the time of Christ needed to take place. To me, this makes sense. Joseph Smith was the modern day Prophet chosen to be the Prophet of the Restoration. Joseph Smith restored the Priesthood and translated an ancient book which is a companion to the Bible teaching about Christ's visit to the people on the American Continent. This book is called the Book of Mormon and its teachings are true. I believe that there is a Prophet on earth today who speaks for God just as the Prophets did in the time of the Bible. I believe in Jesus Christ, he is my Saviour, and my Redeemer. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that through the atonement of Christ man may be forgiven of his sins and live with God again. As an imperfect person in an imperfect world I am grateful for the gift of repentance. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches that we can live with our families forever and when death comes we will not be parted. I love my family and want to be with them for eternity. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for my children in this life, I would feed them, clothe them, and teach them, so why wouldn't I share with them the greatest gift I know of? The Gospel of Christ is the greatest gift and I am excited to be able to teach and share this gift with my family and friends.

How I live my faith

Family comes first. My husband and I have a strong commitment to each other and to our children. We believe in the family unit, and we believe in the importance of raising children in a home where they know that they are loved by their parents and by their Father in Heaven. Our family attends church every Sunday, all of us, including the kids. Our church is a family church where adults, teens, and children of all ages are welcome and invited to come and worship. Our church has programs for children, teens, and adults. I have had a lot of fun serving in many of these organisations in my church. I have been a part of Primary (children's program), Young Women's (12-18 year old girls program), and Relief Society (women over 18 program). I love singing Primary songs with the children, laughing with the Young Women at Girls Camp, and listening to the wonderful lessons given by smart and talented women in Relief Society.
