Hi I'm Darren

Being a Mormon helps me see what's important.

About Me

I am a lineman/troubleman for a large power company and enjoy working outdoors. I have been married to my best friend for 25 years and we have had 3 boys and 3 girls together. We enjoy going out into the desert riding ATV's and also enjoy family gatherings.

Why I am a Mormon

Why do I think this is the true Church of Jesus Christ? In short: 1. It just makes sense – all of it. 2. It claims to be the actual Church of Jesus Christ. 3. All it has ever taught me is how to be good, and has blessed me and my family. 4. No other Church I have learned of gives me more answers. 5. All the people who try to disclaim it never offer a better way! As I said, that is a quick, short list of simple reasons I think the Church is true. If that’s all you have time to read please think about them and ponder on what I’ve said. However, if you have a little more time I beg you to read a little more. I was born a member of the LDS Church, but had to learn for myself in the early 80’s if it was actually God's Kingdom on Earth. So I started questioning and checking. I listened to other members of other churches talk about their churches. I listened to Reverends, Pastors, Ministers and Priests explain their faith's doctrines and I explained mine to them. I quickly became aware that they couldn’t “prove” their beliefs to me and vice versa. With EVERY SINGLE statement from ANY PERSON who told me my church was wrong, and that what I believed was incorrect, there was NEVER a follow up with anything like, “instead, here’s what’s better, or here’s the Church I’ve found to be true!” NEVER. So, to me, it was like anyone who was anti-Mormon ended up sort of belonging to the “Church of anti-Mormon”. It seems they never really found anything better but wanted to make sure I wasn’t enjoying what I had. ANYONE who reads the Book of Mormon with the real honest intent of finding out if it is true or not WILL come to know it is true through prayer (asking God) and the feelings of the Holy Spirit (God answering). I invite you to “Prove all things, hold(ing) fast (to) that which is good” (1 Thes. 5:21) by reading, finishing and praying about the Book of Mormon. If you do so with real intent you will come to know it is true also.

How I live my faith

Mainly, I live my faith by thinking of things of a spiritual matter everyday. By taking time to turn off the radio and simply pondering things of a spritual nature. I try to think about God and His Son, my Savior. When I do I find so much to be thankful for, I see so much good, light and beauty.
