Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married and father of 3 sons- the older 2 are Eagle Scouts. I'm an engineering director in a prominent aerospace company that manufactures commercial aircraft interiors. I love photography- something I'm very passionate about! I also love to grill or slow cook in the outdoor smoker. In the summertime you'll often find me with my family at the beach body surfing.

Why I am a Mormon

I started life in a Mormon family, but went through the same process of conversion as anyone else. I read the Book of Mormon, prayed and received a witness to its truth. Praying about and living each commandment brings blessings and assurances from on high that they are true principles for obtaining the greatest happiness in this life and life to come. I believe in Prophets and Apostles that receive Christ's direction for His church. I know of no other religion that completely answers "Who am I? Where did I come from? and Where am I going after this life?" I know of no other religion that offers hope to all mankind that they can all be saved no matter when or where they lived.

How I live my faith

I try to read, study and pray everyday and attend all my church meetings. I've worked with youth, been involved in scouting and currently serve as a counselor to our Bishop. Service brings the sweetest happiness. At work everyone knows I'm a Mormon and they try to respect my standards for good language. At home we teach our boys and read the scriptures together. I try to be a good example, Father and Husband. I love my wife and we are equal partners with the same goal to raise an eternal family.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

It is a testament of Jesus Christ in the old world. We love the prophets of the old testament and the record of Christ's life and the lives of his original Apostles in the New Testament. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith at tender age of 14 earnestly wanted to know find truth and which of the Christian churches of his day were true. When asking God in prayer, he received a vision where God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. He was told that none of the churches held the complete fullness of the gospel and that if worthy, Joseph would be the instrument in which Christ's church would be fully restored. Later he translated the Book of Mormon and in 1830 started the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with 6 members in the State of New York. He received revelations contained in the Doctrine & Covenants and Pearl of Great Price, built temples and taught the early saints. He served everyone and brought them closer to God, but ultimately gave his life to protect them. A very great man and prophet whom I adore for his service and sacrifices. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

We believe that families can be eternal and that eternal life is the greatest gift of God. Eternal life consists of being with family living in the presence of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ as joint-heirs with Christ sharing in all that the Father has. All of mankind has or will have this opportunity. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely! We worship only God the Father and Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the creator and Savior of the world for all mankind. It is only through His great Atonement and Resurrection that we can be purified to live in His and the Father's presence again. The Holy Spirit testifies of this great truth through study, prayer and meditation. All others including many great prophets are mortal men working as instruments in His hands bringing His gospel to the world- the great plan of Happiness.  Show more Show less
