Hi I'm Jeff Castleton

I grew up in California, love basketball, am fluent in Chinese, work in business, and love my family of 3. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very passionate about basketball, and played for a year at Utah Valley University. I currently work for an IT consulting company in their marketing department where we focus on ERP system implementations. I have learned a lot about IT and got in touch with my inner nerd :). I often find myself reading articles from various magazines that discuss how different companies have benefited from implementing different IT systems. I graduated with a business degree almost 2 years ago and would like to someday go back to get a MBA. I have been blessed to have a family at a young age, and we have a little girl with another baby on the way. We are very involved in my work, community, and church. At times it can feel somewhat overwhelming, even to the point of sometimes wondering why I'm even doing all of this. But my faith in God, his Son, Jesus Christ, the scriptures, and a living prophet provide me with strength to keep doing the things the Lord wants and needs me to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives. That He is our Father in Heaven. I know that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior. Christ is the one who has made it possible for us to overcome sin and our mistakes. It is through His love and sacrifice for us that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven again, and with our families eternally after this life. I know that God has restored His Gospel and priesthood authority to the Earth and was done so through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is evidence of this truth and I know that book to be true. It, along with the Bible, contain the fullness of Christ's teachings and Gospel. I know that we have a prophet today, President Monson, who holds all necessary priesthood keys given from God to direct His church on the Earth. I know all these things to be true. And because I have this knowledge I am a Mormon. When you have that kind of knowledge you can't help but share it with others around you. God wants all of us to have this knowledge...and we can!

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. My faith gives me meaning for my life, and because of that I'm passionate about living and serving others. Through my faith I've been able to be involved in service projects, literally, around the world. It started at a young age where I would go with my family to harvest grapes that would be made into raisins. These raisins were then donated to needy families. Later in life I had the opportunity to provide service through my church in the country of Taiwan. While there I grew to love the people and their culture and developed this love through lots of meaningful service. Currently my wife and I visit multiple families that attend church with us to help them develop their faith and strengthen their knowledge of God. We've not only been the givers of meaningful service, but through our faith we've been blessed to receive it on multiple occasions. When our first little girl was born she had a major heart defect. After she was born she underwent a 13 hour open heart surgery. During those many weeks in the hospital God blessed us through our friends and many strangers. Both from people of our faith and not. Many prayers were offered on our behalf and I know that those prayers were heard. Our little one heald in about half the time the doctors expected and is living a wonderful, healthy life!
