Hi I'm Patrick

I did everything I could, but I wasn't happy until I knew how to follow Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon from the East Coast.

About Me

I am a college graduate from the East Coast. I love learning and studying the world around me, with the hope that I can make it a better place in the future. I have been lucky to visit some other countries and because of that, know that people are much more similar than they are different, no matter the background. Maybe that's why the whole world loves music.

Why I am a Mormon

After graduating from college, I moved to the city to work for a international banking company. I was doing everything the world had told me was right and desirable, but in my solitary moments, I knew there had to be something more. Through a series of events that seemed at the time to be unorchestrated, I learned about the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and I knew that His love and His forgiveness were the things that I had been looking for. I made the choice to follow the Savior in the spring of 2007, but as much as I did change my life for the better, there were still moments where I knew I was falling short of this promise I felt I had made to follow Him. I shared this story with a coworker in October of 2008, and he invited me to his church. I will never forget how I felt the first time I listened to the testimonies of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that day. I knew their testimonies were true, and this is where I belonged. When the missionaries asked me to make a covenant with Jesus Christ through baptism for a remission of my sins, I accepted because I felt and knew it was what He planned for me all along. I was baptized on December 6, 2008. Looking back, I know that Jesus Christ was looking out for me the entire time.

How I live my faith

My favorite part of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is being a home teacher. Every able and worthy man in the Church is given a short list of members to be there for. No matter how strong or secure a person might be, everybody has moments where life can seem dark or uncertain. In these moments, I love to be able render whatever service I can, whether it's helping to deal with a serious illness, helping somebody to move, or even just being there to listen.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

If you know anybody who is a member of the Church, ask them to introduce you to the missionaries. The Elders and Sister Missionaries give up 18 to 24 months of their life away from the families to teach about the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in all its beauty and simplicity. Alternatively, you could locate a chapel on maps.mormon.org, where on Sundays, friendly members will welcome you and answer any questions you have.
